Two excellent questions!
Only naturally-occurring ore blocks provide points when harvested. If a player places an ore block then harvests it, they won't receive any points and neither will anyone else who harvests it.
TNT harvesting of ore currently does not provide any points.

Only naturally-occurring ore blocks provide points when harvested. If a player places an ore block then harvests it, they won't receive any points and neither will anyone else who harvests it.
TNT harvesting of ore currently does not provide any points.
There's no visual clue, you simply hit against an invisible wall.

Luckily I had a good lead? Can you see the score of other players somewhere? I was just seeing mine using F3
It seems the tournament was a lot of fun! Maybe next time I might join the next tournament, the bounty will be mine.. Jokes aside, I would like to congratulate everyone who participate I hope you guys had fun!

Edit: I see MB139 had some chocolate in his inventory. He must have gotten to the sugarcane first.
