configs are not hard to figure out at all i changed them exactly as specified and tried using config supplied by others they did not disable mobs properly. Do you even know what NEI mob spawn x's are? probably not as you use customspawner mod with mo creatures. and cursed earth is from extra utilities and mo creatures causes it to stop working. its not compatible with lots of popular mods and could have been put together better i haven't tried it in a year so maybe they fixed it. Also mo,creatures is not allowed in any public modpack.
Also anything i say is still recommending the mod due to how OP worded the ORIGINAL POST wanting to try them out.
If this was a discussion on mods that makers are so horrid to deal with that they manage to suck the enjoyment out of their mods when you merely look at them, the list would be so much longer.
i agree with this, and continuing my rant about Mo creatures i cant belive they wont allow it in any pack but the YogsCast's. Personally the purpose of GT is for server play to make it last longer since the digging phase ends rather quickly and me and my friends like digging but to each their own right? ive played with EE and it just makes me do everything wayy to fast then i get bored and hit end game in 1-2 hours and reset world.
this comming from somone who likes forrestry bees, tinkers tweaks, hungeroverhaul, spice of life, and gregtech but all opinions are biased right?
Flan's Mod is a broken piece of junk, when I tried it back on Minecraft 1.2.5, I ran into several bugs that crippled entire aspects of the mod.
1. The ground vehicles get catapulted into the air when they hit a slab or one block rise (causing 1/2 damage to you on a slab, and flat killing you with a full block)
2. He uses up too many item IDs for the crafting parts, most of which you don't use for anything (makes it hard to run other mods)
3. Compatibility issues with commonly used mods that break part crafting (making it impossible to craft anything)
4. Death on landing bug with aircraft (Flan didn't fix that, someone else did, but Flan took the credit)
5. And on top of everything else, Flan refuses to fix bugs you report, he just blames it on everyone else's mods
Because of my experience with that mod, I refuse to ever use it again, sadly its hard to find other mods that have modern weapons or vehicles since they die off too quickly.

Check out my adventure modpack! 25+ carefully selected mods (Not counting Core Mods) and great for if you don't have that beefy of a computer. Plus it has over 2K downloads and counting so y'know it's good. Oh, and fully multiplayer compatible!
There's also the resource intensive version (if you can handle it) for a bigger experience!
I'd have to say the worst mod is lucky blocks. For my reasoning, its because of how it practically took over all of minecraft itself and I don't see the fun in it.
I swear, people don't know when enough is enough of the lucky block clones too. Have you seen how many PopularMMOs has reviewed? It's ticked me off so much that a once great minecrafter like him has reduced himself to almost nothing more than lucky blocks, lucky blocks, lucky blocks!! Ended up unsubbing him because this repetitiveness put me off so badly and because its all he ever does 99% of the time- almost every video now has to do with that overrated and redundant mod. As I type this he just reviewed another... Its just so sickening... At this rate I think there will be more "lucky block" clones than there are unique mods by 2017.
By virtue of the versatile useful mods they where in previous versions, EE3 and Thaumcraft 3. TC2 was jam packed with content and the start of a deeper "plot", it's only now in version 4 starting to recover from being stripped so bare. But even then rune and mirrors are really gone from the really versatile and cross compatible features they once where. And as much as EE2 was OP (though I still argue my time is more precious then to be sat waiting for a game to do things to count it as nothing) at least it had so much functionality, that if in the rare case it didn't help you with a mod it at least made the vanilla aspects we've all done 1000000x less tedious, it knew it's place and done it, no feature creeping or pointless layers of tedium upon layer of tedium for no real purpose aside from making a poor excuse of so called "difficultly" like so many other mods love to do today (GT RC CC etc).

Just wanna say, both are redesigns.
EE2 and EE1 were both developed by X3N0, and when he went on hiatus he passed the torch on to Pahimar and Pahimar managed the mod from that point on. Pahimar technically had the ability to change the mod, but didn't want to out of respect, however he did feel like it was too unbalanced and wanted to change that to make it more balanced. Once 1.3 dropped, the perfect opportunity to rewrite the mod from scratch came along and he took it and made EE3. EE3 is meant to be a more balanced version of EE2, so some things are going to be missing, but he does plan on adding some long awaited features back in.
TC3 had the same fate, for different reasons. Azanor seems to change up how the mod functions each update, TC1 was the predecessor to TC2 and functioned mostly the same as TC2, but had a more mystic feel to it. TC2 used liquid vis and taint and had more of an alchemical feel to it. TC3 has again a more mystic feel, with aura nodes and wands and such. And TC4 is like the mixture between TC2 and TC3, using nodes like TC3 but going back to the roots with a form of liquid energy fueling blocks (essentia). TC5 is again returning back to it's roots with atmospheric vis, and he's already working on it. It's only 1.8 though, unfortunately.

On the subject of shark-jumping, another YouTuber to suffer that fate was TheDiamondMinecart. Not sure exactly WHEN, though.
DanTDM jumped the shark with his spore let's play, after pewdiepie played it, and Dan saw that it was popular. since then it seems like he purposely halved his iq on screen to appeal to kids, I especially despise his spore series because a game that once had a small but committed creative fan group is now a crap hole where most of the creations are phallic objects.
I don't know about you guys but the type of mods I personally hate the most is the instant structures mods. I don't mean the popular INSTANT MASSIVE STRUCTURES MOD, I mean the other smaller ones. There was one mod (I forgot it's name), but all it added was one structure which you made with some crappy stick. Also the Bedrock edition mods that add instant structures also really annoy. There was one mod, where when you right-clicked a diamond, you got a house. That is not only a waste of coding, but it is also pretty useless. If u have diamonds in survival, I'm sure you have a house already.
Plus I wanted to point out that no one has posted on this thread for almost 2 years. Just discovered this thread.

I know this thread's most likely dead, but I gotta give my two cents.
I generally don't like mods that make the game too easy, too hard, or just weird. I especially hate meme mods, and I get that they're a joke, but the humor gets old very quick.
The worst mod I've ever played has to be Headcrumbs. Now, I use to LOVE that mod, but over the years I've grown to dislike it, mainly because I feel like it's wasted potential. All it does is add YouTuber heads, and honestly, that's not very interesting to me. The novelty wears off very quick, especially since several of the YouTubers in it aren't active MC players anymore.(I have no problem with these people moving on and doing other videos, but it just seems silly for them to be part of a mod when they're no longer playing MC.)
I wish it added more animal heads, or even created cool, decorative head mounts. Also, I don't think it allows you to add the heads of mobs from other mods.(Example-Animania) I could be wrong about that.
also, since you all have been mentioning the mob talker mod, there is a mod called cute mob models, which changes the looks of the mobs to anime girls, that are VERY similar to the images in mob talker. It does not change the hitboxes, so even though the spider is tall, you can only hit it at the bottom. Almost as bad as mob talker
For me, I just dislike anything Witchcraft. And I'm also avoiding "technology" related mods since I don't feel they fit with the game. (I'm playing with just shy of 200 mods, but I mostly want to keep the feel close to vanilla.)

I remember downloading one mod (I can't remember the name), but there were so many missing
textures, and many of the features didn't even work properly.
