I don't care what version it is, I just need a way to get regular modloader mods on a forge-rigged Minecraft.
You put it in the mods folder? And, it has to be that version, or something that's relatively close to it.
(Example: 1.6.2 can also work on 1.6.4 in almost all cases. 1.7.2 can work sometimes on 1.7.10. 1.6.4 cannot work on 1.7.2. This is because there have been major changes to Minecraft between that updates.)
I am using 1.7.10 mods, there is a 1.7.10 mod that requires mod loader (did someone else pick up the project) what should I do? Didn't u say it was discontinued round 1.6.2, if that is, why is thread tagged with 1.7.2?

The 1.7.2 tag probably means the OP was confused. As far as a 1.7.10 mod that requires mod loader, that seems even less likely. What such mod have you found that claims to require mod loader? That might only apply to older versions of the same mod, while newer versions use Forge (or possibly LiteLoader).
It has also been updated for 1.8.1 which is even weirder!

The initial post there was last edited Nov 4, 2011, before 1.0.0 was released. The 1.8.1 in brackets is Beta 1.8.1.

The "official author topic" link there doesn't work, and it's credited to "PowerUp217", while that "Level Up" thread you linked seems to be by "Remalis", but looking through it, I find some quotes that make it clear "Remalis" was previously known as "PowerUp217".
