So, i want to try some Shaders on my PC, it needs Forge and Optifine, i've got both installed but i can select only a profile at time... How do i use Forge and Optifine at the same time? I'm using Minecraft 1.7.2
Ive downloaded Forge and Optifine for my minecraft and im trying to put optifine and forge together but i dont know how to put forge and optifine together so if anyone knows how to do it plz reply quick as you can by the way my version is 1.7.10 my username is agkplayzMC if you want to play with me.
Forge is just an API that allows mods to function, download it, run the installer, start-up Minecraft to finish installation. A folder titled "mods" will have appeared in your Minecraft folder, place any mods including Optifine there. When you launch the game make sure your profile is forge, Optifine will be present in your game. Just as an FYI Optifine doesn't create it's own profile, it will run in Forge's.

Can you explain, which instance are your wanting to play in Fabric or Forge? Remember that Forge and Fabric mods aren't compatible so you need to choose one or the other. And at the moment Optifine only works in modded instances alongside Fabric using "OptiFabric", Forge support is coming but I don't know when or how soon it could be.
If you try to play using Forge it won't let you play if Fabric mods are in the folder, if you play Fabric it will ignore the Forge mods and you can play with those mods that support Fabric.
All you need to do is put Optifine in the mods folders, and if it doesn't work (alongside Fabric most likely) then extract Optifine as a mods by double clicking then selecting 'extract' not 'install'. then put that into the mods folder (or extract it in the mods folder if you want). As long as you have OptiFabric you can run Optifine alongside Fabric.
I want to run worldedit and shaders at the same time (1.14.4) will that work? I tried putting optifine in the mods folder alongside worldedit, but then when I opened up minecraft it brought me to a screen where it said that optifine is unsupported.
I assume your trying to run Optifine alongside Forge 1.14.4 and have WorldEdit and Shaders included. Optifine I think supports Forge now but I haven't tried myself so I don't know for sure I haven't heard it not being supported in a while and with Forge 1.14.4 being out of Beta I assume it's possible now.
Either way if you have Java installed, Forge 1.14.4 installed and the worldedit mod and optifine in the mods folder it should work hopefully and the shaders I think go into a shaderpacks folder... (I don't use shaders so sorry if that's inaccurate), then if the Forge 1.14.4 profile is ready to go it should work.
I'll test myself if you provide the files and I can try working it out for you? Just put them in your cloud storage (Dropbox, Google Drive, other options) and share it or message on discord and I can help you out with it possibly.
no sig yay

Nope, it creates its own profile
I've already tried it, i put OptiFine into the MODS folder but when i start up Minecraft it just shows a Pitch-Black screen
1. Make sure the Optifine version matches the MC/Forge version.
2. Use the most up to date version of Optifine for the MC version your using.

I've done that and when I launch mc after I click play it just never continues but closes the launcher.
