I use a windows computer and have WinRAR and I want to get mods for minecraft since 1.2 and I cry now since everything I try doesn't work, even guides won't work, I want things like tinkers construct, can someone please tell me how and link me to all downloads as close to 1.7.5? Please...
1.6.4 is currently the version holding the world record of having the most mods.
If you want mods...
You'll need Forge.Click on the *(Installer)*
After the download, use Java to open it.
You can also double click the installer if Java is already set as a default to open .jar
Forge should now be installed.
Run Minecraft with the Forge Profile at least once.
A folder called 'mods' will show up in your .minecraft folder.
Now....We add the MODS!
Make sure your downloading mods from a reliable source!
This forum (MinecraftForum.net), + most other minecraft forums + PlanetMinecraft.com + Curse.com + Curseforge.com + A website the "Mod Author" made (Example: iChun.us Coros.us)
Websites you should avoid Scoop.it, Minecraft5, 9minecraft (Minecraft sites that look like these....)
Remember! Mods that were made for a specific version will only work with that version unless the mod updates or has an older version available.
Each mod has a specific way of installing, so I can't say it right here.
However, most "Forge" mods installation is prettystraight forward (Place the mod in the mods folder)
(I'd still recommend looking at the installation part of the Mod just in case)
Anything you still don't understand? Don't hesitate to ask.
