Typically each mod is its own zip (I don't know what happens if you make a zip of mod zips). I suspect one of your mods is crashing the loader thread or otherwise terminating the initialization. You need to try different combinations of mods to see if there's a specific mod causing a problem with the others. Also, check the forge error log for errors (hide the log in SPOILER tags if you ant to post it here).

The Forge error log logs more than just errors, and most errors are silent. I've never encountered a mod (my own included) that didn't have at least one [WARNING] or [SEVERE] entry in in the error log (those are technically errors, even if nothing crashes). We need to know what order your mods are loading and what, if anything, they are doing to each other. That information is in the Forge error log.

I don't have Forge on my current computer (traveling) and I don't remember the full filename off the top of my head, but the Forge log filename ends with -0.log

It should be in your game directory. I think it's ForgeModLoader-client-0.log
