they changed the way wire is made in experimental ver. you need to hammer it then cut it with a hammer and cutter of course, till u get a metal former machine up and running.

Oh wow, don't know why I couldn't find that myself. Thanks for the heads up! Good to know it's not broke 'cause I love this mod!!!
It'd be nice if the IC2 wiki at least had a section for changed recipes for the experimental version...
Also, I hope building more solar panels will help with never having enough power to keep my ME network (from Applied Energistics) running...because with the pretty barebones network setup I have, it uses 5.5 EU per tick (if I'm understanding it correctly) and five solar panels just can't keep up. I've taken to only powering up the network when I need to. :/
There any chance someone could clue me in as to how in the hell Biofuel Cells are used? I've tried every build from #253 to #278 (current) and everything from all the generators to the buildcraft and forestry engines. I can't seem to get anything to accept it as a fuel. Am I missing some vital step in it's processing?
Also: wtb either a wiki, better documentation (changelogs are vague) or the ability to make a wiki myself for experimental builds.
They were used to fill fuel cans for generators in the canning machine previously, but I haven't been able to get it to work nor have I been able to use it otherwise. NEI and CraftGuide show nothing for it and googling has proved to be a pointless effort.
Edit: this has been from builds #253 to current, not sure of before that as I wasn't using experimental IC yet.
MC 1.6.4, Forestry 2.3.0.6 and build 278 of ic2 experimental here and I have to agree with Knas.
I can't seem to place IC2 Biofuel Cells in the IC2 Canning machine put in any mode. I also can't place IC2 Biofuel Cells in the Forestry Bio Generator.
Forestry Biomass cans can be placed in the Forestry Bio Generator, but not IC2 Biofuel cells.
In fact, I can't place IC2 Biofuel Cells in any slot of either IC2 Canning Machine placed in any mode.
I admit I'm fairly new to MC, but it's not that difficult to grasp. What am I missing here?
That has the same information as the page I link, so I can confirm that it's at least the same item I'm talking about. The canning machine has multiple modes now so my best guess is that it hasn't been fully implemented yet or had a step added in the process of all that.
Well for a while now they've had a habit of changing how things are made without telling anyone the new method. Empty Cells for example took me 3 hours of googling to find out how to make them now (metal former instead of the crafting grid like before).
biofuel I think is used for the new Semi-Fluid Generator, which i belive will burn oil, fuel, biofuel, biomass,or ethanol, with different outputs of EU.
meaning refined fuel will get you more EU per bucket or cell then oil.

Tried that already. It won't go into the semi-fluid or any other generator or machine that I can figure out.
Had done some searching there before, but did so again and found something that seems to allude that it indeed isn't implemented. Besides though, this is just an additional place to ask about things what-with it being a mod forum an' all.
And why are most of the answers something along the lines of "it's experimental, it's not supported"? Everyone gets that by now, but people can't really use or test and experimental branch without more knowledge. Not saying someone should fully document the entire thing, but perhaps making changelogs a bit more descriptive? "Forgot to adjust the Crafting Recipes as well." (build 276) for example is rather vague. Which recipes? I figured out the energy crystal change (4 diamonds vs one previously) by chance when I went to make one, but what others were affected?
look in your config file, if you have railcraft installed it sets the output to steam so only waterproof pipe connects.
you can deactivate that in config file
I tried to use fluid pipes, but doesn't work, I will look that config file, thx.

I looked in mine (is a default config file) and as of at least #278 that is set to false be default. That does seem a possible culprit in Uriei's case as well though.

first I installed #253, and now #279 without deleting config file.

Did you by chance poke around in the config to verify what that setting was on? should be something along the lines of:
B:enableSteamReactor=false
It's possible that mine never changed as I installed railcraft -after- IC2 and configs are generated the first time you play after installing a new mod. If all else fails, I'd delete both the config and mod files to put a fresh mod file in. Checking the config for that setting after that because it'd be setting default options with railcraft already installed.

that setting was "true" so can't use cables with reactors, but pipes neither, now is false and working with cables

As far as I've been able to tell, the experimental version is the only one currently available for 1.6.2, though.

You gotta be sure to have a redstone signal to it else it does nothing at all.

I have the same problem.
Tried with #253 and #279
I can't seem to reproduce the issue you're having. Any mods installed that extend IC2? i.e. anything that adds cables, machines, generators, etc
