We're on a Mac OS 10.8.3 system and my 8 yr old loves Minecraft. He asked about how we could download a mod (?) We downloaded iLivid, which appears to be a browser of some type, but am having difficulty downloading the Tale of Kingdoms. I downloaded v184.108.40.206 but when I opened the zip files all of the folders were empty. (Perhaps it doesn't work on MacOS?)
Is there a good tutorial or simple instructions that can point us in the right direction?
Alright so, you know that page that you downloaded iLivid from? In the top right corner there's a thing that says please wait 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, then skip ad you want to click skip ad and it should take you to media fire or something like that, and there will be a download button, click it. Next after that's downloaded I rec amend downloading MultiMC Its a great tool that lets you install mods with a push of a button. When you download that open it and at the top left corner there will be a icon that looks like a page with a little star on it click that and it will come up with a window and on one part it says "Instance name here" put a name there and click ok. Next you will see a grass block on the front page with the name that you chose right click it and click Edit mods then a window will pop up and there will be a button on the right that says MCforge click that and select the very top number then click ok. Now on that same window click on the the top button that says mods folder and go to you downloads on your browser by pressing CTRL+J and just click and hold the tale of kingdoms mod that you downloaded and drag it onto that window and it should appear there then close that window and double click the grass block icon and login with your username and password and click launch then it will load up minecraft (it may take a while) and then you're done! message me back if you have any problems.
There should most likely be a file called MacOSX in the Tale of kingdoms, and if there isn't it probably means that it's the same for PC and Macintosh. Tell me if you need any more help because I might be able to help you. I have downloaded this mod recently, in 1.4.7.
