Hi. I enjoy installing mods into my game because of how fun they make your game, along with how easy it could be to play the game. I just enjoy playing with all their features and stuff. However, now I feel the need to start making mods of my own, using Minecraft Forge. Only there's one small problem: there are no tutorials for how to install it on a Mac. The only times I see tutorials for how to install Forge Source, it's always for Windows. Nothing for Mac. I've already downloaded Forge Source, but it says that on Mac you have to run the install.sh file. I've tried running it in Terminal, but whenever I do, the message that comes out is (please note that I have placed asterisks in place of my computer's name since I consider it as private information):
*******-MacBook-Pro:~ *******$ /Users/*******/Downloads/forge/install.sh ; exit;python: can't open file 'install.py': [Errno 2] No such file or directory logout
[Process completed]
I've also tried directly running the install.py, but that doesn't appear to work, either. I'm wondering if there's anyone out there who knows how to properly install Minecraft Forge Source on a Mac. I use a Macbook Pro that runs OS X 10.7.5, to be specific. Any help you guys can give will be appreciated. Thanks!
I've tried that too, but the process never actually continues. However, I've found a webpage that says how to run it properly. It turns out all I had to do was run the "bash" command. Thanks anyway!
I am running on a mac as well. To get it working, you must first get Minecraft Coder Pack. Unzip the download and drag all the files into the Users folder in your Macintosh HD. Then, download the source code for the appropriate minecraft forge version. Unzip it. Then, open up terminal. Type in #!/bin/bash. Then press enter and type in "python" with a space after it. Do NOT press enter yet. Drag the install.py file next to the space. Then press enter. It should start doing its things. If it doesn't complete properly, get a new terminal window and before retrying this, type in chmod a+x with a space after it and drag in the install.py file after the space. After doing this, wait until terminal shows up with a message saying a" Minecraft Forge Setup Finished". If THAT doesn't work, I don't know what to say.

logout
