I would post this in mod discussion but that seems to be "help I can't get x mod to work"
LOOK! ANOTHER "WHAT MODS ARE YOU USING POST!"
Back on topic what mods do you use right now? I've been around mods for a while but have fallen away from them lately and I wanted to know what mods (mainly mod combinations) you guys find the best!
PLEASE don't say tekkit, or technic
PERSONALLY Right now I'm just using Optifine and Light Level Overlay
MCPatcher (Not sure if this counts or not) for HD texture packs (I use sphax bdcraft)
Mine Little Pony for well...being a pony.
Too Many Items because I just like it a lot better than creative mode
Well technically...those add to the game unofficially.
A mod is still a mod.
Optifine and Shaders mod are performance/aesthetic mods, and they don't affect gameplay all that much, do they? I guess I'm just a sucker for vanilla Minecraft.

Well...they're still mods, and they still add things that aren't 'officially' in the game. Ah well, no need to have a discussion about it. I was just making a harmless joke.
And I have to agree with you. Besides TooManyItems, I only download aesthetic mods.

Other than the my little pony one, what other aesthetic mods do you use?

I used to use Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders, but I was having issues on my old rig. I've got a new one now, and I'm waiting for the official update to the shaders to release.
I know there's a release candidate, but I can't be bothered to mess with it.
OptiFine, ModLoader, Biospheres. I don't even use the Biospheres much, I doubt that I will get the new version when I upgrade. I would use Battlegear if it was still being produced, but unfortunately not.
Usually a set of mods has a main mod. Obviously you'll first want to install Forge/ModLoader. Then you can add your "main" mod. A few big mods are Twilight Forest, Tropicraft, Buildcraft, and plenty others. After you've done that, you should add smaller mods such as Rei's minimap (mentioned above), Optifine, TMI/NEI, Portal Gun, Smartmoving, and others. After that you can add aesthetic mods such as Shaders, Water Shaders, and others. That is pretty much how to make a god modpack.
EDIT: I realized I told you how to make a modpack.

Yes, yes you did. I'm more interested in the bigger mods like twilight forest and tropicraft right now I want to make an adventure!

Rei's minimap for now.
I had Zeppelin mod (best airship mod EVER), but the creator is not updating... he is probably waiting for mc 1.5
Rei's Minimap- For way points
Twilight Forest- Boss Battles, and exploration
Thaumcraft 3- Give useless items a purpose, and research gives Minecraft a new level of complexity
Mine Little Pony for well...being a pony.

My house is made of steel, with paper for doors.
I can't believe I haven't tried twilight forest yet.

It's really such a shame that creator discontinued that. I never played around with it much. Maybe I'll downgrade minecraft and check it out..

In that case, I'd say Twilight Forest and Optifine.
I hope there's more like twilight forest. Tropicraft doesn't seem to appeal to me too much.
I definitely agree. I don't really like Tropicraft.
