Heyo.
Up to this point in the game I've played utterly vanilla... and it's gotten boring.
So, the point of this is, which mod should I install first?
All ideas will be taken into considerations, thanks!!!!

Personally, millenaire and buildcraft are my two favorite mods. If your willing to get multiple mods, you can get buildcraft, industrailcraft, redpower, millenaire, mcforge, and optifine. (the last two are mostly for debugging, mcforge allows buidlcraft and industrailcraft and redpower things to work together, optifine because millenaire makes quite alot of fps lag)
Single player commands, it's a really big mod and it allows you well, single player commands, for example in single player you type /fly and you can fly, or /give itemnamehere and you get that item, and there is a //wand tool which lets you do all kinds of stuff. Search youtube, or google the mod to learn more about it.
Edit: also get optifine, it isn't an actual "mod" it mostly just increases fps and stuff, it doesn't allow you special items or whatever.
really depends on what kind of experience you want to have in minecraft because there a ton of mods that add a new experience to minecraft
Well, how 'bout this.
I'm not looking for a mod that will add a new dimension (e.g. Moon, Aether, etc)
More something that will change the general gameplay. Maybe something that adds another item, or a series of items.

Some mods that add a new feel to the game (and I personally like) are:
1. The Timber! mod (Realistic tree-cutting effects)
2. Millenaire (NPC Villages and new items)
3. Mo' Creatures (adds new animals)
4. Too many Items (In-game item spawner)
5. single player commands (basic commands, ex: fly, World Edit, Instantmine, etc.)
6. More Creeps and Weirdos (new mobs, however it may not be the mod you like, as it adds a LOT of new mods and items)
7. Tale of Kingdoms (basically, it's an RPG mod that allows you to control your own Guild and rule over the land, LITERALLY)
There are some other ones that may suit your interest. It all really depends on what you're really looking for. These are just a few of my favorite mods, as they add a new feel to MineCraft. Hope I helped!
I would suggest Zombe's modpack, it's the first mod I used, it's highly configurable, it doesn't really have conflicts with any other mods(to my knowledge), you can fly, give yourself items, control weather, change spawnrates for ores and mobs, and a lot more.

Oh yeah, and the mod in the guy above me's signature.
