The game gets released in November, 1.8 previews at PAX at the end of August. So my guess will that there will only be bug fixes after 1.8.

More blocks and ores isn't too much to ask, is it?
Also they should make more ways of transportation (car, plane, etc.)

what does it matter what we say? notch will probably add something useless to casual gamers. how many people that go mine and build for fun are going to use pistons? those are used by redstone experts. and honestly? what was the point of lapis?
