Hey everybody. I know there's been quite a few people who have requested a DURGZ (drugs) mod for Minecraft, so I hope to get a positive response from this. However, I don't want to be discussing real drugs (which I didn't read anything against in the rules), since I can't talk about them from experience, as I've never done them. On top of that, there's been too many mods that add IRL elements into Minecraft, so I just created my own Minecraftian drug. I call it "Venenum" (pronounced Ven-nen-yum), which is drug in Latin.
Right now it does pretty much the same things as LSD from the GMod DURGZ MOD, or I'm not really sure, I haven't used that in a while. It basically makes the screen flip out with colors and randomly display "GET MORE V!" And the only things that get rid of the effects is sleeping, and eating, which afterwards you can't get the effects back since I haven't made the item for it yet. The flashing screen is a bit obstructive, though, so it's best experienced in the morning, because at night all you see is trippy colors and not really much of the terrain.
However there is a solution to the aforementioned problem, which is for me to create a texture pack instead of adding visual effects on top of Minecraft. Although, I'll only do that if people request me to. Also, don't forget that this isn't a mod that's meant to be paired up with others. This is (or at least it's planned to be when it's finished) a complete overhaul of the Minecraft system, so you should just uninstall all your other mods, and do this on it's own.

Now there's an item for it. It's a bong, and you craft it by using one piece of dirt in any crafting square. To use it, just place it anywhere, and right click on it. Also, since the only way to get rid of the effects is sleeping, I turned on naps, which will let you sleep in the middle of the day.
Your mod is terrible and you should feel terrible for making it.
Right, because Minecraft always shows how things work IRL. IRL, there's such thing as source blocks for water and lava, and all the water magically disappears when you delete the source blocks. IRL, everything's made of blocks. There's such thing as creepers, skeletons who shoot arrows at you, and zombies (Still pending on that one, though.) IRL, you can stack blocks of dirt on top of each other, and destroy all blocks except for the topmost, it floats in mid air. IRL, wolves can be tamed using only bones, and can be fed ONLY porkchops, nothing else. I could go on and on with this list, but I wont. The point is, almost nothing in Minecraft is like it is in real life, so why should this be any exception? Also, I never said it's how drugs work, so you're just trolling.
I like the idea of this mod, but it does need a bit of realism. Not realism as in how getting high works, but aftereffects, and how the person would obtain the drug. What I would like to see in this mod is a type of withdrawal from not taking the drug after a day or so. (depending on the drug) And maybe a type of npc like a drug dealer. Even other effects such as lowered weapon strength after extended uses of a drug, slower speed, then possibly death if you take the drug too much. :biggrin.gif: There are just a lot of ways to extend a mod like this.
