I'm gunna donate I just didn't really want to donate to the server. I was waiting for you to put up your donation link. If you did I'm sure I and MANY other people would donate. I mean I got $30 just laying around, why not give it to my favorite modder :biggrin.gif:
If it isn't too late to suggest, maybe one could have four corner blocks that go on the bottom layer, and have to be repeated every, say, 10 blocks up? Anything in the area between these is the castle? And to keep from huge areas moving, they could require redstone connections to the control block (perhaps it glows green to signify the connection) with a maximum distance of, say, 60-70 from the farthest limit block on the same axis?
>.> I just really want my Sky Castle to be able to move, and the current area allowed that has been mentioned is too small >:
Another possibility is that the more volume it has (effective area in the XYZ), the slower it moves (requiring more power blocks to get it to move at a decent speed)?
Also, I still don't quite grasp the way you get the fortresses to move
Its not block grid entities, sorry. And you can build that if you have strategic repeater placement. Though I ran into some troubles. I'm thinking of making the repeaters more like power extenders, meaning they increase the relative range of the control. 10 repeaters within the grid means +10 extra blocks in all dimensions (20 total for those poor in math.)
Details on movement:
Using the correct movement tool on the block causes it to move appropriately. AKA the "UP" item sends the fortress up. These item's don't wear out and can be used on any control block. They will be expensive to craft however.

Seeing as that would be very annoying to craft all "Up" "Down" "Right" "Left" items, I think you might want to change that a little. o.o
Maybe make a GUI which lets you move in certain directions when you right click the block?
Well, you place the controller block, use it, and it moves blocks, right? Then in practice, it's the same as block grid entities.

What about key combinations? Something like Jump + Rightclick = move up?
BTW, when I saw the name of the mod, I though "Hey, a B-17 plane mod!"
Im affraid its not quite the same. You cant rotate the structure, theres no physics, its jumpy, and it cant be used in intricate mechanisms. Its a step in the right direction, and adds some neat ideas, but its still short of full on block grid entities. :sad.gif:
Yeah, I'm also thinking of a block limit so you don't tear off chunks of a mountain as you pass by. I'm thinking 30x30x30 cube.
[] =any block
=control block
= repeater block
[] [] [] ... and so on for 30 blocks
14 blocks and a control block then 15 more blocks
30blocks
30blocks
and so on for 30 blocks.
Something like that.

I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!
This looks suspiciously similar to MoveCraft, a Bukkit server mod: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/mech-fun-movecraft-v0-6-8-cars-planes-and-boats-made-of-blocks-531-766.1007/
If anything, it looks more varied than yours (cars, ships, bombers, drills, ect. And all with separate functions). And I like his control layout better. The one advantage yours would have is single player use. Or fluid movement (if you can, in any way, get THAT to work...). Or if it ends up working on a default server instead of a bukkit server. Just wanted to let you know that this idea has sort of already been done, just in a slightly different way.
Anyway, I still would love to have this in single player, but I definably want the controls changed. Maybe when you right click in a direction with a special tool in your hand, you go in that direction. Sort of like in MoveCraft(i.e. When you right click with the special tool while pointing up, you go up).

There are times when I feel like both the luckiest and unluckiest man in the universe.
Any way I can help with modeling any blocks? I could probably get a good copy of blender on my laptop. If you need help skinning the powered block and the repeater, I'm here. All I need is the skins, the models and a good block texturing program or the required code to texture blocks. That's all I need. I'm always here if you need anything.

It's going well, i'm distracted due to grades and this great roleplay server, (which actually roleplays, imagine. Not the same i had the download, i found a better one, :biggrin.gif: ) but i've have a few suprises.
i wanted to post a while ago but the whole form move got me down.
so
you craft marker blocks.
you need to place atleast 4 to mark off an area to be lifted. you place your control block somewhere in that area.
when right clicked(control block) a menu pops up with a crafting square with the same length and width as the area you marked off in game.
you also set the height requirements in this menu for your area.
on the side it shows you how many power blocks you need for the marked off area to lift off.
this number of power blocks depends on how big your area is and how high it is.
the power blocks need to be placed somewhere in the area.
the power blocks also need power by a pulser or something else(something to do with lava. your moving part of minecraft it'll take a lot of power).
for controls
so notch is adding in a map to minecraft.
so either in a seperate menu on the control block or a new block(navigation block)
you place a map. when placed it can be writtn on and you write down your path on it. it'll be like controlling units in a RTS.
just some ideas that might be good, might be bad, or might inspire another idea.
Well, June 1 is coming up real quick which just happens to be when I take my one and only high school final. Just curious, what grade are you in? High school or college; just want to know.

That was what I was thinking.
I LOVE THAT MOVIE
Anyways, I figured it wouldn't be possible, as Laputa is way too huge in relative to a 10x10 grid. :<
Also, I think we should have some sort of control stone so we can remote control it.
lol
Like the Laputa control box Q.Q
P.S. : Hope your not spanish ._.
