I was browsing today in the forums and came across a topic where everyone said that mo' creatures shouldn't be in minecraft. And i was just wondering y. And is there a topic on which we can vote for mods that should b in the full game.

Another thing could be theme inappropriate. If it feels like it's just out of place in the game.
This is correct. The resolution of the standard Mo' Creatures textures is double the default Minecraft resolution (32x32 px as opposed to native 16x16 px). While some people do opt to patch compatibility in for higher resolution textures, this compatibility is not officially supported because it was never intended in the design of the game. This is a big issue because one of the motivating factors the game design was to show beauty in simplicity, thus the intentionally low-res textures and purely cubic model design, which brings us to the next big artistic distinction.
When you look at the models for characters and mobs in Minecraft, you'll notice that all the shapes are drawn only with 90 degree angles. This is intentional. While arms and legs may move at angles, the actual model parts are intentionally square. The Mo' Creatures models are similar, but feature more geometric complexity not in keeping with the core design of the game.
The last and most important point of interest is that the Mo' Creatures pack changes the game significantly in ways that might alter the way you play. I was considering including Mo' Creatures compatibility in my custom texture pack. I decided against it for this very reason. As updates for Minecraft roll forward, mods will have to be refinished for compatibility. That means that not only will you have to wait for the mod to be updated, but also that if you load your map before the update, you may lose precious progress on something you were working toward. If the mod added blocks or items with new IDs, your map may crash all together until the mod is updated. And with a mod that adds so much significant content, the removal of said mod may make it very difficult for you to play in your normal habitual manner because you would perceive the game as being incomplete somehow. I've experienced this phenomenon with tool repair. I simply can't mine anymore without being able to repair my tools. I'm too trained in my modified behavior.
Lastly, some updates will likely incorporate the same ideas thus theoretically breaking the mod or otherwise producing inconsistencies. Take wolves, for instance. Now, when Mo' Creatures is compared to standard Minecraft, there are wolves who will not harm you if left alone and there are wolves who will kick your ass if they see you.
Succinctly, Mo' Creatures is a very good idea, as are all content adding mods of a similar kind. I personally can't bring myself to use them for fear that I might become accustomed to them and then be dismayed if they were to become absent. However, I support the idea because it is a good way to get developer attention and let them know what we, the Minecraft community, would like to see added to the game. I simply will not be joining the list of users, but will gladly remain among the supporters and admire the mod from afar.

They are ugly
To elaborate on this, they look odd with 32x32 res textures when everything else is 16x16. The models look nice, although incorporating more angles than the standard models, but the textures are a bit of an eyesore due to the aforementioned incongruity.
cool thanks for clearing this all up i was wondering why. i still think though that notch should add the animals from mo' creatures into minecraft to add more variety(of course after changing sprite size).

I agree, and I can say with a fair degree of certainty that it's likely planned for the future with the recent mob additions we've been seeing. Another point I forgot to bring up is sound. The animals in Mo' Creatures have nice high quality sound effects while the standard sound effects for Minecraft are intentionally reduced in quality to add to the retro feel. It's hard to distinguish, but I've worked as a sound engineer in the past and the standard Minecraft sounds have a distinct tinny lo-fi quality.
So, in short, many of these good ideas will likely be adopted, but in keeping with the Minecraft style.

Most of the mobs are not unique, mobs that can only be killed with one type of weapon are not fun, and ill be damned if anyone finds the ogres balanced.

True that. In the brief time I tried the mod, I kept those bastards turned off. I too appreciate the birds and rabbits, the foxes and dolphins as well, but wish they were more Minecrafty and less moddy.
If notch added mo creatures i would hands down stop playing minecraft for the same reason as stated above ^^^^^
But horses are good as long as it doesn't get too complex. Hostile mobs during the day are a horrible idea because that's when it's supposed to be safe so you can go about your business w/o having to watch your back all the time.
Minecraft needs aesthetic improvements as well as some game play improvement. Mo' Creatures = Good Mod, Bad Vanilla

i like most of the animals. there should be no lions though. bears maybe. ogres if their balanced (maybe nether) sharks i like but they should be lower in the water
Wow what a lot of whining in this thread. People complaining that there are too many mobs.... LOL you understand that Mo' creatures doesn't actually spawn "more" mobs, right? There are just more types and fewer in the caves beneath you in the caves. Can't remember the exact numbers but is limited in vanilla at 15 friendly and 200 hostile mobs within the spawn range.
Anyway, I feel that as you raise the difficulty more hostile mob types should spawn. There just is not enough variety in the game now. As well as a bit more either variety or intelligence in the AI. I mean really most of us play the game to build, some in peaceful so they can admire their pretty structures. I for one enjoy building for my survival as well. But as it stands in vanilla, you build a trench or wall and all is well, boring! While mining even on hard you just have to keep an eye out for the bouncy bounce of the creeper to remain safe.
Seeing the birds flying around! Amazing. Seas that are actually dangerous if you fall out of your boat! Fantastic! Being able to spend hours of fun breeding horses! Incredible.
Now all that said do I think Mo' Creatures is the perfect answer? No. However, it is a start and it adds a LOT of flavor and more mobs should be added to the vanilla game. For both the peaceful farmer/breeder/builder and for the survivalist.
I think Minecraft is more than just a sandbox building game but an adventure game that allows the player complete freewill.

The FOUR original mobs are 32x32 textured. Lion, Bear, Wolf, Ogre.
All of these, DrZhark has said, he will change to more Minecraft-like textures and each will be given their own overhaul (for example, with the lions' improvement will come tigers, jaguars and leopards for the other biomes.)
The rest of the mobs are 16x16 and add plenty of new things to the game.
Horses- a tamable, rideable mob! Complete with a complex breeding "minigame!"
Shark- a danger of the water! You can also get shark eggs and raise your own shark to make your huge moat complete!
Birds- Great atmosphere to see birds fluttering about, or a small flock get scared away by a zombie!
Wraiths- Ha ha, look at all those stupid monsters down in that cave. They can't get up- oh wait, what's that floating up here?!
The next update, hopefully in the next week or so, will add 3-7 kinds of FISH! These include tropical fish, game fish, and possibly even piranhas!
And the mod comes with several options to perfectly tweak the way you want them.
Don't like ogres? Turn them off.
Only want one ogre at a time? Set the max spawn to "1."
Do you want ogres, but hate how powerful they are? Set their destructive force to a lower number.
Personally I love the mobs, like what that other guy said on page 1, they are 32x32 now the only problem I am having is finding a texture pack for mo' creatures in a higher resolution (the models are 32x32 to make it fit I want everything else to be 32x32) the armour and items are my only problem.
Another thing could be theme inappropriate. If it feels like it's just out of place in the game.
In general I would love to see more content in the mob area.
