Can someone make a mod with red, green and blue redstone torches each with 256 states so you can have a working full color 32-bit computer? I'll give you a bunch of :DBlock:, and remember = 9 *
HE does mean that, but computer screens only use 3 colors, just the different shades of them and them combined make the different colors. Or maybe redstone cloth...
You can't have 256 states. Period. Torch placement currently requires 5 out of the 16 different data points. If you made each one be a different block (that's a total of 3 blocks), you could still only get a max of 3 different states out of each. That's 3 per color. Now, you could use far more blocks to help. With Shockah's more block id's mod, you could probably get around 196, or 3/4's where you wanted to be. And that's using a full 196 blocks, with each 1/3 linked to all of the others in the group.
On top of that, it's not like you can get those colors to combine this way.
I don't think he is trying to immortalize murals on his redstone computer, but rather just something to indicate that red is the player or something, and yellow is background, and green is ground. :tongue.gif:

Okay, I'm confused, how does 16 different data points, five of which are not available, make it impossible to have 256 different states? That's 11 data points available, no? If you're doing that in binary, you could do it in 9.
Otherwise, I still do have to believe this idea is a little bit foolish. There is SOOO much we still need to do with redstone, color is the least of our concerns. It's a nice idea, but it's not very plausible right now.

Though its not updated, however. He could if he could find some free time.
