Hey guys, I've been working on a few new items and blocks lately. I've also updated the Holystone sprites, as the previous ones were placeholders. Check them out:
New Blocks
Gravitite
Characteristics: Gravitite Ore (the first block) has the same effect as Sand blocks. However, instead of falling down, Gravitite Ore floats up. If it hits the sky ceiling the block will break. Enchanted Gravitite (the second block) only floats up when a Redstone current is provided.
Located: Gravitite Ore is the rarest mineral which can be found in the Aether. They usually generate underneath very large floating islands. Enchanted Gravitite can only be obtained by enchanting Gravitite Ore with an Enchanter block.
Uses: Gravitite Ore can be enchanted into Enchanted Gravitite, which in turn can be used to create powerful Gravitite Tools.
Enchanter
Functionality: Enchanters gives you the ability to both repair damaged items and give additional powers to existing items.
Crafting: Enchanters are made with eight Holystone blocks surrounding one Zanite Gemstone.
New/Updated Items
Holystone Tools
Characteristics: When using these tools, you have a rare chance to uncover an Ambrosium Shard (whether it be from the remains of a dead foe or the rubble of mined stone).
Crafting: Holystone tools are made with a combination of Holystone and Skyroot Sticks.
Strength and Durability: Holystone Tools have a very low durability, and medium strength.
Zanite Tools
Characteristics: Zanite tools start off with the strength of Wooden tools. However, the more you use it, the stronger it gets. The highest strength it can get to is the same level as Diamond, but by that time the durability of the tool only has 200 uses left.
Crafting: Zanite tools are made with a combination of Zanite Gemstones and Skyroot Sticks.
Strength and Durability: Zanite Tools have a very high durability, and varied strength (depending on how long you've used it for).
Gravitite Tools
Characteristics: If you have a Gravitite tool in your hand, and you click your right mouse-button, a stream of blue particles will flow towards your pointer. If the stream hits something (whether it be a monster or a block), the entity which was hit will get "phased" out of existence for 10 seconds. Once the 10 seconds have passed, the entity will phase back into existence. Phasing something does not destroy nor kill them, only temporarily disables them. Using this ability costs triple the durability as mining a block or hitting a monster.
Crafting: Gravitite tools are made with a combination of Enchanted Gravitite blocks and Skyroot Sticks.
Strength and Durability: Gravitite Tools have a very high durability, and very high strength.
what is the ''phase out of excistance(spelling?) for 10 seconds'' for anyways? seems useless :tongue.gif: but i'm sure it will be worth using
If you're facing too many monsters for you to handle at a given moment, you can quickly phase them out and walk right through them. Likewise, if you needed to get past blocks which take a long time to mine (or can't be mined at all) you could use this to phase them out and walk right through. It is especially useful for Dungeons.
This is pretty damn awesome, I must say. I'm not trying to self-promote myself, but in a week I'm gonna (try to...) learn Java, and start on a Red vs. Blue mod. The mod will have randomly spawning bases 2 chunks apart, and will have Red and Blue NPC's! Again, awesome mod, and would like to know if you like it.
P.S. If you don't know what Red vs. Blue is, GO TO THE NETHER.
P.P.S. Codeword: DIRTBAG! If you get that reference, GO TO THE AETHER.
P.P.P.S. Fun fact, "P.S." means "Post-Script".
Oh my god it COULD come out tomorrow! OMG I THINK IM GOING TO EXPLODE. This is like an update for minecraft, BUT IT WONT SCREW UP ALL THE MODS AND ALL THE ANNOYING HATERS WHO DONT USE MODS WONT BE HATIN :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
quick question, in all those pictures it looks foggy, is that the render distance or just the was the aether is? also, what happens if you fall off of a mountain? they are floating.. do you die?
Gravitite tools: No safe will ever be safe again. EVER
Anyway, will players ride on top of gravitite blocks if they float up while a player is on top of them? And is there any way to make them go back down?
After looking through this mod, and falling head over heals for it, I read through the FQA form. Oh, yes I can read! No, not the main point, but Nether changes where also mentioned, here is the exact quote.
"Will we be able to only install Aether part of the mod (no Nether changes)?
Not install, but use. You’ll have to install everything, but you will have the possibility to turn of the Nether changes."
My question would be, what changes are those witch where mentioned? Does it only mean the portal from the Aether to the nether, or are there other things I don't know about? Or as usual am I only a noob who simply missed something thats right in front of there face?
You might want to be more specific, Theres been at least 2 high quality nether update suggestions. Even though I think I know what one your talking about, you still might wana clarifiy it for everyone else. Also, what features are in place to prevent someone useing a gravitite tool to phase through a 10 obsidian thick vault wall that has half a dozen stacks of diamonds inside?

maybe if u build it rly tight around the diamond like;
they wont b able to mine it quickly enough and they fill suffocate in the returned obsidian?
First of all, you cannot gather diamond ore, when you place it you just get diamonds. And even if you filled it with diamond blocks you could still mine at least two of them for a airpocket before the ten second timer ran out.
@Shockah
Thanks, and thats quite funny, because, thats the other representation on my signature. If that where to be included with this, that would be monumental! I can't wait for this to come, thanks, and keep up the good work.
Excuse me? Well-known? I have never heard of them.
This would be interesting, but don't come here and tell me that these are well-known modders.
I zap people. I zap them in the head, feet, hands, arms, eyes, ears and their genit.....
Whoops!

Huh?
I know that Shockah is the person who made the popular Mo' Creatures mod, but I am not very familiar with those other guys.

Ooooooh, modder envy :smile.gif:
Maybe you should look through the Forums and read a little of what these guys have done.
