Discontinued Due to me not ahving anymore time to keep updating. If someone would like to update this themself, I will upload the Sources. (It's pretty well just a copy/paste of the BlockLever/BlockButton[Renamed])
Both the Switch and Button look exactly the same (to blend into a wall of BookShelves).
The only way that you can tell the difference between the two items is the name that shows up when you hover over the item.
The purpose for making this mod was to have a 'hidden' switch or button.
Here are a few pictures of it working.
Heres what the Block looks like in a wall of bookshelves.

If you have a recipe that you want to make something, I will make the recipe for you. I know most of these random recipes are out there, but I know that there are alot of items that are not created via crafting.
It doesn't matter what you want to make, I will make it for you.
Can you please make this for SMP as well? It would be very useful.

I would like to get this working with SMP, though I don't ever play SMP so it could be hard to test.
I would like to have this updated to Beta 1.2 by tomorrow, but I've got a test today and exam tomorrow so probably looking more towards thursday. Hopfully I can figure out how to get it working with ModLoader by then to.
If it's not updated by thursdays, it's probably because I havent figured out how to update without MCP (Minecraft Coder Pack).
Gootah Love Simo for his tuts =D lol
I really like the idea
I'm really freakin pumped for MCP to update lol
I know right? Hes so awesome like that.
Since I'm still a noob at modding, I can't do anything without MCP, once it get updated, this will get updated for beta 1.2. Then I'll start working on More Fences and ModLoader. Doors are difficult and therefore postponed.
Wow, this is an amazing idea.
I can see people making adventure games/machinimas like this, James Bond stlye.
Once you update it to 1.2 I'd love to do a review on it if you're okay with that :smile.gif:
I see no problem with a review. It will only get released when I am satisfied with the product.
I never thought of adventure games and such ideas. Once I'm happy with the SSP version, I would really like to get it working with SMP because even though I don't play SMP, I could see this being useful to people that do.

My word! That sure is a nice thing you have there!
I'll try this out. Seriously, how is it possible that noone else made this already?
Not sure, I had posted it as an [Idea] about 2-3 weeks ago and was just pushed aside. Recently gave myself abit of extra time and figure out how to do it myself.
Looks very nice. Can I ask that you make a button with bookshelf textures? That way we can have door close after use as well.
Also, its a slight reminder of which block is the trigger.
I could try to make a button aswell, mabye with a longer time of sending power. That way the hidden button doesn't have to be as close to the door.
As for a slight reminder of which block, I would need to use a retextured bookshelf. The reason I wouldnt want to do this is because the way I have it now is each block sues the current bookshelf texture, which means even with texture packs your bookshelf switch will still be hidden.
Here is a question for everyone though, would people like to have an alternate version of the block? As in have a different block to be the switch? (Will put in a poll)
You should make it look a bit real/better looking: Just adding the side texture to the top and bottom is ugly and it looks very disgusting.
/noOffenceJustThingsToLookAt
Um, sure, I guess...though the whole point of the mod is to hide a switch inside a bookshelf. Example in a wall of book shelves.
The top and bottom textures of this mod effect nothing (not even visually) because the point of it is to have normal BookShelves around the Switched block - As in you don't ever 'see' the top/bottom, correct?
If you were to use the block as a normal switch, and just put it on the ground somewhere (on its own) then that would be defeating the purpose of this mod, correct?
Think of the top/bottom texture's on the block as the thing that tells you it is the Switch.
Updated to Beta 1.2_02
***Requires Risugami's ModLoader***
If there is a compatility issue with another mod, post a reply with the issue and I will try to fix it.
The BookShelf will no longer be 'just a decoration'
If you pair this with Risugami's Flood Gate or with TehKrush's PlasticCraft - HiddenDoors, you can make a seemingly boring room, have so much excitement! (Sort of)
