Mega's suggestion doesn't really seem like a joke at all, especially if you consider Coros' Pet mod. In it, you used a dominion rod to take control of mobs, even hostile ones.
Mega's zombie staff would essentially act as a dominion rod specialized toward zombies.
You could rationalize the item as either enticing zombies with the brain on the staff [zombies love them some brains :smile.gif: ] to do your bidding, or just (somehow) channel one's will through the brain-staff to control zombies.
However, might I suggest adding some other, more difficult to obtain materials into that staff recipe?

i re=read the post and realized where my mistake was, i thought that he was implying that one saff would make all zombies nice and follow you/ do your bidding. i would say 2 zombies per staff.
but this is sort of getting out of hand, i never liked the suggestions that started out small and sweet, but turned into 1 simply obtainable item that would do everything and could be crafted into a hundred things.
in minecraft items have only a few purposes, thus diversity
I like the Light-up Brain in jar idea, that is awesome! Light up the house in BRAINS! But... Do not bump that many times... its multiposting and stresses the forum server, imagine everyone doing this, that would surely crash the server computer, or make it laggy. So, for basic forum sense, dont multipost largely. In no way am I insulting you though.
