I'm still alive, trust me! I've just been so busy with a lot of other things, so give me some time! Fortunately I had lots of time this weekend to get some gui and tools coding completed, so I'm one step closer with the Anvil Mod...
Speaking of which, I think I might be dropping the Market Mod and only working on the Anvil & Hammer portion, my reasons for doing this is so that I have less work to do and I can focus more on updating / managing one mod. If anyone wants to take the Market Mod idea, that'd be great! (Please give credit to ScottyDoesKnow for the coins icon, and me for the market block icon) I'm sorry for all those who extremely wanted the MarketMod, but it was just becoming more of a problem and I didn't have as much interest in it. Despite me dropping the Market, I WILL CONTINUE PRODUCTION of the Anvil Mod...
One last thing, I'm renaming this to "Blacksmith Mod"

Seriously, what is with the maturity of this forum?
It's stuck back at indev. Nobody felt like updating it.

I really like the idea and art for this mod. Though It would be nice to expand upon it a lot further.
1-The anvil could be used as an alternative crafting grid for new steel/future metal based recipes with repairs as its primary use. I understand its built on the interface of the furnace, so perhaps another type of block could be combined with it bringing up a gui of either 'Repair' or 'Forge' Minecraft has way too many recipes using the basic crafting grid and having a mainstream Forge type mod would be great.
2-Those steel rods could be used with new forging recipes like I mentioned above, but maybe the weak molten tools could be increased to 2-3 uses and set things on fire when inflicting damage.Don't get me wrong I understand that they're meant as a pre-stage to superior tools. Just currently it would be better to have a trait to it until there's more recipes available. Plus it adds a bit of realism since it's super hot.
The market block seemed like a great idea too. Although it makes more sense in one of those NPC village mods, I think a larger more detailed interface with some kind of economy or supply/demand coding in place will be necessary. But your presentation was the one I liked best so far.
For code, all we need is:
- a bunch of items (easy)
- a class taking advantage of ModLoader to create a BUNCH of recipes. (easy)
...
- an anvil (!??!!zomgwat how?)
Lol Your Using 8 Diamonds To Make a Hammer To Repair 1 diamond pick, Fail!
If you had read the thread, you would easily understand that the hammer has multiple uses... Meaning that you are using 8 diamond to make 1 diamond hammer (now) so that you can potentially repair 12 diamond tools later...
Anyways, I want to let you guys know that I had to rewrite a lot of the code for testing purposes (and so it would work with 1.2_02) Since I am rewriting a lot of it / cleaning it up before a release, it shouldn't be too much longer before you guys see a download. But don't get too excited I'm very busy with school right now, limiting my time by a lot. Oh unfortunately for the first download I might not put the molten/steel tools in there since they are still very buggy and I'm going to rewrite like all of them. (It'll still have the anvil + hammers + repairs) All of this is, of course, a big maybe because I might end up with lots of time tomorrow and Thursday which will result in plentiful periods of coding time... Once again, thanks for your patience I'm sorry you've had to wait this long!

Dont you dare apologize Taco, youre doing this for free and doing a damn fine job. If the whiners wanna whine about it taking too long, bugger 'em, you take as long as you need to do the job properly, the people who really care are waiting with baited breath, not loaded keyboards...
Great effort so far and look forward to your finished mod, however long that is :smile.gif:
Cheers,

/cry! I go on vacation for a couple of weeks and find out that the Market is gone! /cry /sob! That was the main reason I was here! Oh well. I suppose that would be a lot of work. Well, good luck to you with this mod.

Very very easy if you are using MyCraft. And it will still work after minecraft updates too!
Keep doing what your doing dude it looks great.

Bummer. The market was the key imho
