The bk.class file is also used in the WildGrass mod.. This a problem if I'd like to use both?

But, not compatible with Wild Grass, BetterGrass, or BetterLight even. I tried them all separately, it either shows black or transparent grass -- great view to the middle of the earth that way, though.
In your terrain.png the grass block (top left corner texture tile) has a different greyscale color value than the side grass one you created. That's probably another reason it's not matching.
FYI: I am going to use this mod above all other grass mods until there is compatibility. :biggrin.gif:
Thank You!! I'm working on a "all my mods" patch for my friends and so far, graphics wise, I've got biome Terrain & trees, marble, better light & grass, hand held torches, and wild grass all working together! It's so bushy and nice...
I think that the only issue with your mod conflicting classes is with Wild Grass mod.
I'm stoked to try this out, as I'd really like to use a texture pack that has grass growing further down the block on the half-grass texture... but without your mod, that would just look bad.
I'll post some pics if you get compatible! Promise!
I came up with a way to make it compatible without breaking everything, just rename the original bk.class to something else and replace it with a class that inherits the renamed bk.class and overrides the necessary functions.
Hey Altimor, I'll give that a try... It's been quite a few years since I've java coded. Can you recommend a good IDE for editing the class files? I'll take a look to make sure the WildGrass mod's texture location doesn't conflict as well and send you the edited bk.class if I get it working!

The Wild Grass mods does not conflict with this mod in the location of where the author's put the textures on the terrain.png. Though if they would go through Mod Loader, their compatibility with every other mod would be greatly inscreased.

Java can't redefine functions at runtime, so not possible.
I would guess... because you need to override an existing function? I'm not sure how the mod-loaders work but so far I've only seen them adding new blocks / items / recipes and mobs... Never replacing core functions. I think Altimor had the idea right, to add a parent class that overrides only the necessary function. Only other, less cool, way of doing it would be the way that WildGrass incorporates support for Better Light and/or Better Grass... He released 3 versions of his mod! ;p

Delete the META_INF folder in Minecraft.jar. Also, I'll see what I can do about compatibility.

Good news is it didn't just black screen, yes?
