So I've tried m hand at doing a texture pack a few different times and this one is my 3rd or 4th try, not that that matters though. I decided to go with 16x16 because I don't want to have to deal with graphic errors or anything like that, and I already did a pretty awful job at trying out 32x32 so you know.
I don't have a name for it yet, but "Chadswebs 16x16 Texture Pack" will do until I can think of something
There isn't really a specific theme, rocks are still rocks and nothing is changed beyond just a change in art style.
So to start off, here's the basic: Sand, grass and a tree
Obviously the color of the leaves and grass will vary based on biome, but you should get the idea from that picture.
(also the rest of the pictures will just be links so this page doesn't take forever to load or anything)
So that's all I've got done. Terrain is complete (other than ice), and I'll be working on items now. Feedback is appreciated, and if anyone has any tips on anything or any suggestions, I'd love to hear it. Click here to download it
If you try it out, I'd love to hear what you think
You could always just strap your name onto the front of it, making it Chadsweb's Texture Pack, for class and simplicity. It'd be hard to give it a meaningful or metaphorical name, since there isn't much besides an art change, or maybe you could give it a name based on something changing.
I'm usually pretty good with naming things, but I seem to be out of it right now...
Thank you both. I've finished terrain now (as well as tweaked a few things like the crops colors and such) and the only thing unfinished with that is ice, because I'm not sure how to go about adding alpha levels like the original ice texture has. Until I can figure that out, the original texture for ice will be used.

Next up, here's some clay which definitely wasn't just put down on top of sand for this picture. Also cactus!

Now here's everyone's favorite block: Gravel!!

Here's cobblestone and mossy cobblestone, which obviously were just placed in no actual pattern or specific shape.

Behind that is a little pile of logs, as well as a large sum of TNT (the texture for TNT isn't for sure yet, that's just temporary)

Woops, I think I might have blown up the floor. Oh hey, is that coal?
http://oi52.tinypic.com/2ni00wj.jpg
My god! Not only was it coal, but iron, gold, redstone and diamond as well!

Here's the workbench, as well as some chests, strategically placed on a beach!

Here's a wall made of bricks, and then also surrounded by obsidian, with a steel door in the middle!

Here's half steps. Nothing exciting, really

This is bedrock. It's just cobblestone, but darker. It's on a beach as well.

Here's some snow, on that very same beach

Here's the mushrooms
http://oi56.tinypic.com/2e58phl.jpg
These are the flowers and saplings, except yellow flows are more like little grass bundles or something, not flowers, though.

Pumpkins aren't carved out until you make them into jack-o-lanterns, and when you do that, they're just big emptied out pumpkins with torches in them. Also there's some reeds

Here's some furnaces lines up against a wall of smooth stone, with a small window (glass is just clear other than the frame, I might change that if I think of a better way to do it)
http://oi52.tinypic.com/vg4bqs.jpg
Here's some wool (on a beach) next to some minecart tracks. The tracks are the same as in the default textures, just recolored
http://oi56.tinypic.com/16bgbqa.jpg
Here's a ladder, some bookcases (which I may change a little at some point) and then some mob spawners thrown in for good measure.

Here's the nether stone and brimstone (or lightstone, whatever it's called)
http://oi54.tinypic.com/2u5gav9.jpg
And here's another shot from the nether of the slowsand (right) near some gravel (left)

Now, on to items!!
