Hey, Notch said he really frowned on mods that edit code, but here is my question:
When you bought the software, you gained all rights over it, except for common sense ones, like:
* No redistributing
* No decompilation and remakes
* No pay to play, rent, etc.
* No advertising the game as your own
etc.
But, modding the game, non-multiplayer, for maybe, if you wanted to, add NPCs, that edits code, and doesn't like that, BUT, if we bought the game it is ours, and we can edit our copy to our heart's desire(except for Multiplayer), can we not? As it would not harm him at all, and it would not harm anyone/anybody in anyway. So I think we can mod the code to our fullest extent without breaking the law in terms of intelligence as nothing would be bad coming from it at all?
Rule A1: If you know the answer, post it. If you don't, don't post. If you're not a mod, don't be the thread police.
Thank you for following rule A1.
@ThreadPolice(1st reply): Thank you for following A1. End of sarcasm now.
@Next guy: I see what you are saying, but why not? Why should he care about us modding the code? What is making him uneasy about it? I see no direct downside... there is nothing bad that could happen to it other than the chance some random ass will come along and decompile and make a copy calling it his own, in which case he could sue. Would it not be fun, to say, create something that allows people to increase the sky limit, or maybe add a function that levels maybe a 15 x 15 area by pressing a key added in code, etc. See where I am going? Where, in fact, is this going to hurt/damage him/his company/his game in any way?
Given that you cannot mod the code without decompiling it, and you said in your first post that decompiling the code is wrong: I don't think your position is supported by your arguments.

Now this confuses me. OPs always love to get all pissy and complain about people complaining in their threads.
I'm going to give you some simple advice that just might blow you away: If you want people to post relevant comments in your thread, try posting in the right sub-forum. That's why we have them...

You know, I might've actually taken you seriously, except
1. Just a few days ago, you made a spam thread titled "Chicken Butter Nuggets."
2. It was about orange Jupiters giving birth to moons and some other poop like that.
3. You reported everyone, which included me, for saying that the thread was spam, which was the truth.
4. You PM'd me just to say I was "men to you."
5. That image.
6. The game was made by Notch, and programmed by him. You didn't like people messing with your spam thread, even though it deserved to be tossed in the Sparta pit. Why should an epic game be any different? And in Call of Duty: Black Ops, people who buy the game, by your logic, have bought the rights to it as well. So why don't we all use aimbots and mods to put the Ray Gun, and heck, why not the Thundergun while we're at it? Why not in real life? By being born, we all have the rights to mess around with our lives! So why were people so pissed when Michael Phelps took drugs at some random party?
7. What exactly does this have to do with ALPHA SINGLE PLAYER again? /thread
Oh, and please do not send me another offensive PM again.

Actually, that's the best mental image ever. A dying, drowning man stuffing his face from a massive wall of cake, and carving out a monstrous underwater cake picture. I'd pay to watch that irl.

I wanted people to not whine in my thread, see A1.
Your COD and life analogy is ********.
That 'spam' topic was to be humorous, to see if anybody on this forum would have a little laugh. I was wrong.
I reported people because I was reported for trying to make someone's day.
I sent you a message saying 'ya wur men 2 meh' for my last chance at making you laugh. You need a life, because you don't even have any sense of humor.

Well, sir, I am so sincerely sorry that the range of my sense of humor does not include frickin ORANGE JUPITERS GIVING BIRTH TO CHICKEN BUTTER NUGGETS AT THE EDGE OF THE UNIVERSE, and the fact I am "men."
And you must elaborate about why my analogies are horrible. In what way? In a radical, unrealistic way, or "OMG IM JUST JELUS CUZ IM UGLY" way?
Finally, how does a frickin PM saying I'm men constitute any laughter or sign I don't have a life?
You started a trollwar on the wrong forum, buddy.
Prepare the flamethrollers!
stations at the ready!
Shoops set to woop!
Bring in the WAAAAAAAAAAmbulances!
CHAAARGE!
On a more serious note, Notch also doesn't want us messing with his code for our sake as well. The mods break with the game, and lead to very pissed people. Kthxluvubai.

OP pulls out the old "ololol i Tr0l U" technique in an attempt to save the little slice of dignity that he is clinging onto.
