Sponges And Coral
This mod merges my 'Semi-Working Sponges' and 'Lava Sponges', along with a couple of new things:
[*:2hw5ctdn]Coral, which changes color depending on the biome.
[*:2hw5ctdn]Super sponges, which have a larger radius, and can absorb both water AND lava!
Currently, normal sponges and lava sponges have a radius of three, while super sponges have a radius of five.
Coral grows naturally in deep water, about five meters deep, I think. (Only appears in newly generated chunks!)
I'm currently working on a video, currently it has been recorded and needs to be edited and uploaded.
Recipes:
Normal Sponge:
]" title="-<->" />
]" title="-<->" /> ]" title="-<->" />
]" title="-<->" />
Where ]" title="-<->" /> is string.
This gives you two sponges.
Lava Sponge:
[] []
[] []
Where is Netherstone.
This gives you a single lava sponge.
Super Sponge:
Where is a lava sponge, and is coral.
This gives you two super sponges.
Normal sponges are the normal, yellow color.
Lava sponges are like normal sponges, and tinted red.
Super sponges are like normal sponges, and tinted blue.
Coral is kinda hard to explain. Watch the video. :tongue.gif:
Video:
(Ignore the watermark, as normal. :tongue.gif:)
For those of you who would like to test it out yourselves with INVedit (*cough*cheat*cough cough*), the ids are:
Normal Sponge: 19
Lava Sponge: 117
Super Sponge: 118
Coral: 119
The bug is 'half-fixed' (It flows over to sponges once after removal, but then is removed and stops as normal.). Spoke too soon, it's not 'half-fixed'.
This is sexy xD one thing i think u should make the block look a lil bit more yellow xD
Thanks. :smile.gif: The sponge color is just my texture pack.
Anyways, I can't seem to get sponges working with that water flowing thingy. :tongue.gif: My guess is that Notch took out sponges because of the new water physics (although, I'm probably wrong about that).
Oh well, glitchy sponges are better than nothing, right? :tongue.gif:
(As for the "lava sponge" I mentioned, I'll try to work on that tomorrow. I have to go to bed right now. :tongue.gif:)
(The name has officially changed from "Working Sponges" to "Semi-Working Sponges" :tongue.gif:)
I love you at this point in time....I was just about to start making my "underwater" fortress to finish my world off and I was dreading clearing the water after I enclosed it.
So thank you for saving me HOURS of dropping sand then digging it back out to remove water :smile.gif:

You're welcome.
But now it won't work because of the update.
[EDIT]
Looks like all of the class files were only incremented by one letter (no -> np, pb -> pc), so I'll have it fixed in a minute. The only problem is that I don't think any mod loaders work with 1.2.4 yet...
[EDIT]
Nope, they don't. I just checked all three. I'll probably try porting Shockah's (since everything has (I think) only changed one letter), just to get it working sooner. :tongue.gif:

If I ever get it working 100%, I'll try to make a special lava sponge though. :smile.gif:

And to craft it:

Absolutely! This is awesome! Makes it easier to keep expanding my under water bases :biggrin.gif:

if no, that may be the glitch, just a theory...
Yes, it does. It checks if the block has the water material (or lava), and if so, it removes it.
Download this class and put it in your jar, and the sponges should be absorbent again. The recipe won't work yet, though.
(Lava sponges won't work yet, either, both are waiting for a working mod loader.)
