Some people like playing legitimately.
Mods aren't legit. Even mods like gemcraft its not legit it gives you more materials to give you a unfair advantage (WAAAAAYYYYYY more unfair than alrdy is duh.)
This is not a mod that gives people an unfair advantage. It gives you the power to make a sponge that works just like it does in Classic. One day you won't need this as Notch will make sponges you can create in Alpha.
You have to make said sponge. Do you not get that?

Who cares? Most mods are SSP only, so who's getting the advantage over whom? And how is GemCraft giving you an unfair advantage? So it gives you a pretty new block to use for decoration. Big whoop. Again, in SSP, how's that an "unfair advantage?"

Uh huh, sure. Anyway. On topic.
Love the sponge mod. It's a fair bit expensive, but it packs quite a punch too. My only request would be that if you do make a cheaper version, you make it weaker, too. Maybe a 2 or 3-block radius instead of five? That's up to you, though. :happy.gif: You're the modder. Either way, great job! *thumbs up*
With this mod, if i use a editor to place sponges into my inventory directly, will they work as if i crafted them, or is your sponge using a different id?
Honestly, a gold block is asking way too much for a sponge. I can understand MAYBE a gold bar, but a gold block is lunatic. Use something else of value, like maybe mixing sand and redstone dust makes them both harden into a sponge, that would be a reasonable recipe. I wanna use this mod but it's kinda not really worth it for what its asking.
Not sure if this works with the new update or not. I tried reinstalling modloader (which I think went in fine) then reloaded this, and my sponges don't work anymore.
Bumb, i updated mods and also added new "Change spawn" mod. All info is in first post. Oh and sorry i haven't change sponge recipe. Though it removes also lava now.

hey when I place the last cloth block in the grid, the game crashes with a null pointer exception
What other item mods you wccnyc are using? Problem is probably item id. If there is some other item with same id, it probably causes crash. Ill change id to something different. Current id is 995. Edit1 Changed id to 2562.
The bad thing is, there isn't any mod item id list. Or i haven't seen any. Actually item modders should include item id in their post, what they are using for custom items.
Better solution might be dynamic item id. Eg: item mod detects what item ids are already in use and changes id to unused id number. But there is probably some things, why it won't work. Let's see.
TheDeinonychus: I are too worried about that block ids are limited to number 128.
DragonXDoom: you also need download ModLoader mod. I personally prefer Risugami ModLoader 1.2.5

It's not from the item id
It's probably because of the custom recipes mod
