The following tools have updated speeds, but are only updated at breaking blocks they typically are used for. For instance, a pickaxe will go through smooth stone like butter, but will still putz on dirt or gravel.
Stone Shovel
Stone Wood Axe
Stone Pickax
Iron Pickax
Diamond Pickax
Like all other mods - simply copy the class file into your minecraft.jar
Removed the delay for sapling growth, as well as the spacing requirements - similar to dougbenham's mod but left the new tree parameter's alone. New saplings should sprout within a minute or so.
Disclaimer: I know nothing about java, but since the prior mods I've used haven't been updated for this patch, I tried to piece through things to get an update to the old super pick mod. Thanks to all those whom have made tutorials for idiots like myself, and the prior mods from which i've based this on. I was fumbling in java to figure this out. I'm unsure whether I'll keep it updated during future patches, but for the time being, have fun with it!
But there are already around 50 of these mods for tools that make them break super fast... I even have one that lets you combine a pick, an axe and a shovel to make a tool that smashes through everything superfast -.-
Other than the obsidian version, which adds items, could you point one out that works with this update?
Good job.
I'm sorry if you didn't know, but there are mods that actually have been updated to 1.2.2 that do almost the same thing as yours.
I do, however, hope that you can explore the modding world and try modding new things.
I can give you pointers here and there, but I'm not much of a good modder myself :/
I still have a long way until I can be called a good modder.

i have to admit there is a lot of mods out there that do the exact same thing. my personal fave is the diamond fist.
HOWEVER.
I do like the idea of this mod; it makes it so that you have to get the items legitly and if i understand correctly it only makes the tool use faster, without upping the resistance to breaking. I have a friend who is adamant about not adding new items and not modding his invy; this is perfect for him and people like him. im not going to dl simply because i already have a mod that does this, but well done.

You hit the nail on the head - I wanted to make things quicker but didn't want to change the rules that were set up by notch.
Snipey - I've made a 75x version for you - find the link in the original post :smile.gif:
The quicksappling are just quick? No Supertrees/growing without limitations??
You are correct, the saplings spawn trees within 30 seconds or so rather than the typical 10-20 minutes. Notch's code allows some pretty large variations, but I didn't mod any of the tree size variables.
