I realize smooth stone is in the original game, what this was is a failure to communicate the fact that the ability to turn cobblestone into smooth stone via a furnace is apparently a vanilla minecraft ability.

We're not getting bitchy. It's just frustrating when people ask questions which are, in most cases, pretty obvious.
I can understand how you wouldn't know that Cobblestone could be smelted into Clean Stone, as it doesn't really have much use in Vanilla. It's just a little frustrating on our part, so I'm sure you can understand.
I'm currently adding Obsidian Doors to the mod. I wouldn't count on getting the new version out before Beta, but I'll try.

Yes but it lasts forever. In other words, it takes no damage to its durability. I plan to change this though.
