I'd like to request a two items to add to the game.
Firebow:

Feather = String.
Acts like Flint and Steel, except with a lot less durability.

Campfire:



Acts like a furnace, except for it doesn't turn off unless it runs out of fuel. Should not be able to use coal or smelt ore (or stone).

What do you need to know? I thought it was pretty simple considering the items are based off of existing items. Is there something that needs explaining?

Yeah, I know, but you can't cook meat on it, which is why I went with an item based off the furnace.

I know Notch has said he doesn't want to go too much into the survival aspect of the game, but I purchased a Java book and eventually intend to help with mod production. (when wife and job allow) I'd like to see some more survival aspects added to the game. If any of you have played Fallout: New Vegas I rather liked how they added the survival aspects to the game. You had to play the game on Hardcore to get them. If Notch was willing I'd love to see a "Hardcore" difficulty on Minecraft where you required food. But from what I've read I don't think this will happen. So I will probably just have to learn and do it myself. I have some experience with coding and think I'll pick up on Java rather quickly, I just don't have much time atm. :sad.gif:

I'd love to see the campfire mod. It should be like the furnace layout, but with logs instead of cobblestone. That one is too easy to do. I'd also love to see tents, but that won't happen.

Unless you did a tent mod like the the bridge mod where you get a singular block that generate other blocks you'd need block entities.

Is there any interest in the campfire mod?

I'm going to resurrect this to see if there is any interest in this.

I'm glad other people like the idea, but now we just need someone to make the mod. :tongue.gif: I prefer logs myself.

In case you guys didn't know, Xie's Cooking mod has a campfire and a bonfire. They act as a furnace, and also give off light (Campfire gives off a little less light than the bonfire).
