Hey so I have a mac and I downloaded the Obsidian mod and Diamond Paxel mod but they dont work. I was wondering if for mac I also had to download the modloader because I followed the mac directions (I copy pasted the first part into terminal, then found my mctmp folder in finder and copy and pasted the contents of both mods into the folder, then I copy pasted the last part into terminal and then, without closing terminal, opened minecraft.) and nothing happened. Is there anything I'm doing wrong?
Now ill warn you all right now i am a total noob when i comes to modding, and am not at all able to mod.
I know how to use MCEdit and INVedit but those are just editors, and really only use them to get like Ghast spawners above ground and things like that. I am really interested in a lot of mods like IWannaWin's here
I want to know step by step how to instal a mod in minecraft.jar

I'm having an odd problem that could either be something involving this mod or the new update in general. Whenever I tried to load my main save (which I haven't backed up for about a week), I get a crash report. I've completely deleted the bin and tried to play the game vanilla and the same thing happens. If I put the mods in, I'll get a black screen simply because the mods aren't updated which I understand. The game will create new saves just fine though.

i have a pproblem just like this but it only happens if i open my chest with my diamond paxel and diamonds :sad.gif:
I too had that problem. It is because you have items in your inventory that do not exist in the game. I am going to guess and say that it is the Powerfist. What I did to fix the problem was use an inventory editor and deleted the problematic items (303's grapple and IWannaWin's powerfist) Once I did that I reload my file and it worked with no problem.
This one seems pretty active, and I have little doubt that it'll be updated pretty quickly. That being said, remember that today is Thanksgiving in the US. Even though IWannaWin's profile says he's in Canada, there's a chance that he may have family in America that celebrates it anyway. (At the very least, it's a good excuse to take some time off one way or another ;D)
That being said, I'm hopeful the update comes soon, too. I had a huge project I was working on before this latest update that would be sheer hell to work on without that mega-awesome Ultimate Fist.

Eh, that's pretty much par for the course, when the game's still in Alpha. Thank goodness Notch has recognized how scary auto-updates are, and is building in a system that asks to update instead of just going ahead and doing it.
Now if he'd only get cracking on some kind of official plugin system... >_>

Did you know you can use INVEdit or MineEdit to remove the offending tool from your inventory so you can at least load your world again?
