Here's my graphics pack. I liked the clean, cartoony styles of Frenden's graphics pack and Nurio's SplotchBlock, but I was curious to see what I could do with a cartoony style in HD.
The graphics were all produced in vector form in Inkscape, so I'm able to scale the output resolution freely. I've rendered them as high as 256x256, but the "official" version is 64x64, in that it seems to be a decent balance between processor demands and smoothness.
This pack modifies all graphics except wall artwork. If you use either HD version, install it with Xau's HD patcher. Custom water and lava animations are included in all versions, if you can get them to work.
Here are some pictures taken in the 64x64 version. The graphics were in "fast" mode at the time; if you use "fancy," you'll probably want to remove the clouds.png file before patching, because my clouds look nice in 2D but lousy in 3D.
Natural terrain.
Plant life (with egg).
Some blocks.
More blocks.
Yet more blocks.
The ores.
Ladder, doors, and fencing.
Inventory screen. (The creeper head near the lower left is my take on gunpowder. I admit it's a bit weird that one creeper can drop multiple heads... and that ghasts drop them too.)
An unhappy pigman (old fire texture in background).
History:
v2.3: Reorganized files into new scheme found in MC 1.2.2
v2.2 (SD only): Cleaned up SD textures to tile better, added info files for in-game switcher
v2.1: Added custom water and lava animations (also static fire), redid the growing-wheat sprites
v2.0: Changed half-steps, added temporary fix for diamond block, made clouds seamless, updated biome colors, redid inventory icons
v1.3: Added missing daytime spider eyes
v1.2: Cleaned up feather and gunpowder icons, fixed pigman hand texture
v1.1: Added ghast and pigman skins
v1.0: Initial release
Rofang, i must say you have done a splendid job with this texture pack. Everything is clean and there is hardly any pixelation on the textures. All the textures are well done and work great together. Your gui and items are very nice. I really like it. Thanks so much for all your hard work, it is appreciated. I think the 64x64 texture packs done in a cartoon style suit this game. Anything less then 64x64 is pixelated and anything above that is over kill. Just my opinion. The one thing i might point out is your half block. I think it should be a solid color instead of using the cobblestone texture. It would then compliment the cobblestone instead of blending into it. Your pack and animal crafting are my two favorites. Well done sir.
I think the 64x64 texture packs done in a cartoony kind of way suit this game. Anything less then 64x64 is pixelated and anything above that is over kill.
Glad you like it! And yeah, I was disappointed in the pixelation of 32x32 when I tried it. I didn't try 128, but I thought that would indeed be overkill for not a lot of extra definition.

I think I'm forced to agree with you. I was trying to make crafted items look more suggestive of their recipes (my version of TNT, for example, is [creeper-dropped-item] in a block of sand). I wanted the half-block to look like it was made of cobblestone to remind me how to make it, but I have to admit it didn't turn out so great.

I am curious as to what the file .DS_store is used for. It's my first time seeing it in a texture pack. Is it a necessary file?
Oh, sorry, that's a hidden system file from OS X; I guess my "select all" unwittingly picked it up to add to the zip. Kindly delete it if it contains any of my credit card numbers.

Hello Sears, i want to purchase the biggest HD tv you have in store....credit card number is......lol just kidding. Already deleted it. =D
I decided to try your pack out. It looks amazing and i cant describe how much i love it! This should definitely be a more popular pack! Everything is so clean and non pixelated. Good switch from dokus :smile.gif:

Misplaced pixel?
Thanks for the tip. I've fixed it in the latest version, though I'm planning more cleanup of the icons in the future.
In another thread some guys figured out just what part of the trianlge pic that is the overlay for grass and leaves corresponds to which biome.
Here is a relevant picture and explanation so that you can customize the color for each biome:

Based on the information found in this thread viewtopic.php?f=25&t=71923
I reversed the code and generated an image that should show exactly how the biomes map to the two colors.png files.

SD version (16x16 - ho-hum)
HD version (64x64 - recommended)
Ultra-HD version (256x256 - absurd)

I just had the best idea for a texture pack

Misplaced pixel? Ill fix it myself. Other then that i've seen no other problems.
It was 2 pixels that were the end of the iron bar. Must have gotten placed in the wrong tile. Fixed :biggrin.gif:

Hmm, I guess I never playtested a spider in daylight. I suspect this won't be my only rookie mistake in this pack. Anyway, fixed; see OP. Thanks!
