Don't mean to be rude? But could you (in the lite) make it:
35% Leaves
12% Sapplings
3% Apples.
If you're referring to the only-moments-ago-edited list for Lite, which reported 40% leaves... xD Well check it again. I think I finally go my OP correct... rawr. It's 37.5%, 10% and 2.5% now. Unfortunately, I won't be further tweaking it.
I'm trying to stick with easier math here, considering I can't just say "make it 35%!" ... On top of that, I'm only allowed to do integer math. Like, say, the odds of hitting 1 out of 20, or 1 out of 5. So while I'm sure it's possible to some degree, I can't be -that- precise :\
Also, due to this, it's a bit more difficult to make anything drop more than 50% of the time. I can make it 100%, then detract from it, but that means something -always- drops from the leaf block. Since it's such a fragile material, I don't think I care for that solution, myself. If I feel like it, I can do a bit more complicated code to make precise percentages, but... I don't feel it's worth the time :\ Even if I did manage it, I'd rather not do it more than once!
I appreciate the fellow interest, but it's probably best to keep that stuff in PM, or in a more General Discussion thread :happy.gif:;;

Looks like someone went ahead and made a mod that works similarly to Spongebob's (and even posted it in Spongebob's thread!). For those who were interested, you can find it here.

I already saw your update and added it a few posts above... ironically, the post -just- before you came here xD I figured it would be okay, especially since people wanted something like that anyway. I'm sure others will appreciate the effort!
EDIT (To prevent double-posting >.<) Looks like I've gotten over 120 downloads between the original and Lite versions already xD Pretty cool for such a simple mod. The biggest reason I'm mentioning it is I'm assuming no one's found anything -wrong- with the mods yet? I guess I'm always a bit worried, or something :tongue.gif:

What kind of materials do you consider "useless", and why? Also, what do you guys -do- with them? Burn them in lava? Stuff them in chests? Build random, nonsensical junk? Your answers might influence what I do with my next mod, but I'm keeping it secret till later ;3
Your mods are probably getting so many downloads because even the previous apple drops mod didn't have a chance to drop leaf blocks or sticks, meaning you just enabled people with less skills to legitly make custom treehouses, (without having to worry about how a tree grew).
As to what I do with useless blocks, usually I have none, but I always make a 4 block lava incinerator for the times I do need one.

Got to test it a bit. I'm also gonna request a Leafless version of this. I like the frequency of the drops for everything else, but I could do without the Leaf blocks. :happy.gif: A great mod though! *thumbs up* Congrats!
Edit: What do I do with blocks I don't need? I just toss them into a pit and forget about 'em until they vanish.
I enjoy the stick drops mostly so I don't need to waste so many good wooden blocks in the beginning :3 Looks like lots of people want a leafless version, though! So I'll work on that tonight before I go to bed.

I guess I kinda assumed most people would throw things out. I tend to have wayyy too many wooden chests full of stone, dirt and gravel, as well as random items I don't use so often. :\ I always wondered what I'd do with all of it, considering I can't bear to just incinerate or throw it out.
Most often, I use gravel as a temporary stepping stone system xD if i just need a small pillar to reach higher. If they break into flint when I'm done with them, I'm still happy!
Honestly, I was thinking about making a small lottery-esque mod, where you could turn stacks of unused items into potentially good items. Or maybe just a bunch of dirt! xD I'd hafta figure out how to balance it, though. If you could dump anything into it, you could just loop until you got something cool. I also don't know what real use there'd be for it, considering the best you could get is diamonds/diamond equipment, or maybe some of the newer block types.
What do you guys think? I'm beginning to think the idea isn't that great, so I'm not so bothered about sharing or asking silly, pointless questions now ^^; I'm better at modding existing stuff! Ahaha. Oh well. Drop some opinions, or ideas. Never know what might inspire me next :tongue.gif:

Anywho, as for your Lottery idea... Maybe you have to use a full stack of stuff to try to get 1 of a hopefully decent item? Like you'd have to use 64 Dirt to activate the lottery, which has a chance of giving you anything between 1 Sand to 1 Diamond Pickaxe. That way people can't just "loop" their items.

I was kinda too lazy to test it x_x too many other things to do tonight. *despite procrastinating all over the forums anyway* Heh ^^; Yeah, I thought about doing full stacks and only getting one item back, but... It might take a bit more coding than what I thought, if I do it that way. I also considered only allowing the "lottery" by the use of a certain type of item, but that defeats the purpose of getting rid of trash I suppose!

Even if I felt like making the leaves drop more often, they're going to be either around 90-95% or 40-45%, leaving 5-10% in either case for Saplings. The way the RNG function is set up, it takes a single integer and returns a hit or a miss. If you put in 5, you'll end up with 1:5 odds to hit the next "step."
Unfortunately, with it only allowing integers, the first drop rate is 100% (1:1 odds), followed by 50% (1:2 odds). There's the possibility of allowing the leaf blocks of dropping a leaf block, as well as a sapling, to increase the chances of dropping the leaf block, but I feel like 100% is waaaayyy too much for such a fragile material. I know it's silly to think that way, but... still.
EDIT My plan failed :\ Still don't know a way around this problem. Would take some effort to actually learn some java, which I'm not up to tonight! Maybe later...
If all else fails, and I get more requests, I'll just do something like a 100% leaf mod maybe :-s

but just because spongebob had a certain configuration doesnt mean you cant also do the configuration.
