A great way to introduce people to the texture packs too. I have not used any of the packs in this voting round so I think it would be unfair of me to vote purely based on screens of them. I'll wait until another vote round is called that has texture packs that I have tried.
This is just my personal opinion, but I don't understand why people like Quandry Pack so much...
I mean it's basically just the default textures... but theres one for each month...
Would people really like my pack THAT much more if I made one for each season?
I just don't get it...
Quandary is amazing. All the different block types go so well with each other in terms of color and form, that it's not even funny, and the fact that it keeps to the original style of the game is even better. He did release a 32x32 version but I don't like it as much. When I look at your pack I don't see the same well thought out style, and many of the blocks don't go that well with each other/ some of them create some ugly tiling patters.
Quandary is better then the original but it doesn't change the feel of the game. I'd actually be all up for it if Notch implemented the Quandary packs in the game as the default packs and added seasons
Since I've started using Quandary, I've actually used blocks like sand and dirt in my buildings, which I've never done before.

But it just feels so... gloomy...
I don't know, maybe its the dull coloring of the grass or the cobblestone...

Such as?
The grass, the stone, and dirt all tile badly. And it's just that when you put most of them next to each other, like cobble on grass or cobble next to wood, they don't go well together, as they have different styles. Things like the doors, tnt, and torches also don't go well with everything else. E:the main dirt is also different from the snow dirt.
If you look at Doku's pack for example, you can see none of his blocks create ugly patters, as they are all drawn out by hand. They also all go together well because of their similar style and colors. I'm guessing you used actual pictures/ premade textures for your pack, which is why some of the texture create those patterns which you haven't put there on purpose.
You're also using other people's textures, which I don't like.
Man, it's called "MIXcraft" for a reason. Also, they look good for me. But I agree with something, the dirt is kind of off for the pack.
Yes but most of those textures were made specifically for a set of textures, and putting them all together ruins them, as they all have different styles. In my opinion, if you're gonna mix packs together, do so in a way that creates a new style by actually editing all the textures to fit together or else it will just look ugly.
I'll see if I can reuse this thread by deleting my first post + all other posts till my second post and then using my second one to put up the poll. It probly won't work. We'll see.

I use doku's but eld's is impressive enough to be worth mentioning.
Yeah but Eld's really does deserve to be on there, just as much as Painterly does
Maybe replace Twolf's or Brandcraft?
Copy that, just wanted to make sure it wasn't over-sighted...

Poll needs an 'Other' option!

I said I can only add 10 textures at a time D:
Ah,
So will there be multiple voting threads for all the packs? :biggrin.gif:
(with elimination)
