This moves both the 3D and flat clouds up a bit higher then the maximum build height, so you still have clouds to look at, but won't have to walk through them if that annoys you. Changed file is d.class
Since the Halloween Update, 3D clouds have had a slight graphical error after applying this mod where one of the planes can get off, to the point of where you can notice that they aren't seamless from the right viewing angle in daylight. Haven't had a chance to poke around and the rendering code enough yet to fix it, but I will soon. 2D "fast" clouds work perfect.
Awesome mod dude. But could I get some help? I had it working once, then I had to reload a backup .jar I made to get rid of a different mod. And now I can't get it to work and every time I load it up i get this error. If ya could help that'd be great

This mod is very helpful for making my mountaintop farm a lot less annoying to harvest!!
Sorry to be picky, but is there any way you could make a version of this that puts the clouds at just BELOW the max build height, rather than above?
Currently the mod puts clouds so high up that they're almost out of draw distance, which makes them appear kind of transparent/foggy (this is on "normal" render distance) which isn't as cool IMO. I still want to be able to see the clouds, I just don't want to have to get lost walking in them D:
Well, currently they appear quite a bit above that height with the mod. I'm just looking for something in between-- so they are still within draw distance but aren't clipping through mountaintops.
Sorry for bumping, but I'm very keen on working this out. Cloud height set about midway between the normal level and where the mod puts it now would be perfect (for those of us who can't run on Far draw distance), and it doesn't seem like that would be too hard to change.. I would really appreciate it!
Yeah, that's the idea really. I want the clouds higher, just not as high as this mod currently raises them. Being able to adjust the height yourself would be handy, but probably more complicated than what's needed here :smile.gif:
Alright, moved down eight blocks to an average height of 130 blocks, to where they can nearly be jumped into from the max build height. Lower Higher Clouds
Might need their height to change slightly relatively to the players height or something if it still seems to high.
Just a suggestion. I really like this mod but I wonder if you could at least take a look at making the height randomly variable with a high probability that the clouds will be at 130ish, but occasionally moving them down to the regular height and very infrequently moving them down well below the regular height for a foggy day effect. I'm thinking that would add a realism to the atmosphere that it doesn't have even in the default install.
An added bonus would be pressing a key to allow the scroll wheel to adjust the height. Sometimes you just want those damn clouds outa your way and sometimes I'd like to be able to create a nice san fran night look for vids etc.

Will post another update once I figure out the 3D clouds issue.

Doesn't this sort of defeat the purpose of a cloud mod? The ingame clouds aren't very far from the max build height.

Thanks.
