I'm gutted, as I only just replaced it in September. :sad.gif:
don’t you have warranty by law where you live? where i live, if sth. technical breaks within 1 year after buying, you have a right to get it fixed or replaced by the store (which in turn sends it to the manufacturer)
if you install optomiser and/or mcregion they must be installed PRIOR to Bettergrass/light .. if you update optomiser then you'll need to update bettergrass/light as well. It makes sence doesn't it... Der.......
I'm guessing you were replying to me, re-read my post, I did say I updated optiminer THEN i ran the patcher,
Other than that, it worked-until i decided i wanted my texture pack to have unanimated fire (long story, forest fire with 64 bit animated fire= 3-4 FPS on my machine) so I reinstall it which ends up breaking better light, So's I try to reinstall better light and i get the triangles again, and then it turns out I also broke Wild grass, so I reinstall In this order
Bettergrass/betterlight and minimap
I encounter an error on the final one, which as i discovered Whenever you encounter an error with the patcher for better light it completely wipes your minecraft.jar, good thing i have those backups. besides that I have a backed up jar that i know for a fact does NOT have better light on it but when i try to patch it for betterlight i get an error saying that it does have better light, I dont wanna start with a clean minecraft.jar because I got a bunch of mods I enjoy and don't really feel like reinstalling them. So, is there anything that I can do besides start with a fresh minecraft.jar
So today was supposed to be spent fixing this bug with block tinting... it's actually I think a bug that came in in the last version becasue I missed one instance of the variable for block ID changing. A one line fix, easy enough.
However... today at Starbucks (where I seem to get most of my good coding done) my laptop started behaving oddly - screen dimming and brightening like I was repeatedly yanking the cord. Too distracting! So I went home and plugged it in, when all of a sudden "that" hot electronic smell, and the graphics chip was going up to over 70C. I had just enough time to plug in a USB stick and rescue my code off it before it cooked altogether. I'm gutted, as I only just replaced it in September. :sad.gif:
So I'm still going to work on the mod but I have to get set up here on a new computer and all that rubbish, so its going to be a few days yet. Sorry guys. Will keep you posted.
That really sucks.
I finally got it to work, but not with BetterGrass. But, I actually don't really mind how the shading on the grass looks all that much. It's not too distracting to me. Plus I just love how the BetterLight makes it all look. Great work on this.
Looking forward for more updates.
IDK why optiminer isn't working too well with this mod, and i do love this mod. think i'll stay away until my laptop gets out of the repair shop so i'm not forced into optiminer if i want to play on normal render distance. ANYways, good luck getting set up on a new computer, thread=bookmarked
Patching to: C:\Users\Tony\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin\minecraft.jar
Patching class: bm (bm.class)
Add BetterLight helper vars
javassist.NotFoundException: a(..) is not found in bm
at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
Sorry to bother, but everytime I try and add just BetterLight and BetterGrass, I get this error. And yes, I've read and followed the instructions.
EDIT: Fixed it by reading some earlier posts. My patcher was outdated. =/
Thanks for the offer of donations, but I dunno. I think it'd feel a bit shady doing that at the moment, like I was holding the update hostage or something! I hope to get a fix out Monday, maybe Tuesday.
Monday I'll be taking the laptop back to the shop and doing my consumer rights bit. Never get between an angry hippy and his geek toys.
