I can't really tell you how wonderful I think this mod is with words, so I'll just share this excerpt from the installation instructions for my texture pack.

I also highly recommend MrMMod's ambient occlusion mod. By way of example, here is a bump-mapped digital image of my grandmother with the ambient occlusion mod installed.
Ok, this is cool. . .
But say you have a 32x32 texture pack, and you ALSO want the Patcher that fixes the firey gold/brick glitch. . . can I just run both? Or will the second one run cancel out the first?
If you are getting the can't-find-main-class error: I was before but now its working. The only thing I did (aside from downloading the mod again) is uninstall all instances of Java then reinstall the latest. I actually only had the latest both 32 and 64-bit but this time I only installed 64-bit.
Finding a simple patch to cure better grass is kicking my ass at the moment. I'm >< this close to just rewriting the entire block renderer from scratch and just being done with it.

If people want that sort of grass, it could just be included in a texture pack instead of needing a patcher.
Then theres no side grass texture its just a the top grass on the side....its not the same thing....

I installed this, then the HD pack. They don't conflict at all.
Hey, how would I edit the colours and stuff shown by simplemap? I did notice an image in the folder with lots of different colour blocks. I just want to see if I can get a map to suit the original textures.
Well like the readme says, each pixel in that image, from left to right, corresponds to the blocks in the game ordered by their IDs (which you can find here). So the first pixel corresponds to air (which is why in the image it's pink, meaning transparent), the second corresponds to stone, and so on.
So I'm curious MrMessiah do you plan on releasing a mip mapping mod to blow the socks off everyone again? You seriously should look into it, nothing else would help a high res texture set more, the moire effect is what makes people hate on the HD sets, this one single thing would fix that.

I hadn't thought of doing it but is this something a lot of people have a problem with? Just never heard it mentioned.

This didn't cause it.
Seems that whatever mod I install, black screen.
Which is wierd because the mods worked fine a few weeks ago
