Here is a mod that makes bookshelves drop bookshelves when destroyed:
Installation:
Backup your minecraft.jar file. Open it using a zip utility like 7-zip, Winrar, or Winzip. Remove all files except MANIFEST.MF in the META-INF file. Replace ds.class with the downloaded file.
An answer to my prayers! Very simple, but very proper little mod! You are a very sensible Minecraftian person indeed! When I do my annual springclean my entire book collection is now saved. For being so good to us! :smile.gif:
Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity.
Yes there are, but those are based on player movement. This is a block mod. The server has to accept how a player moves regardless of the way he moves. It's one of the limitations of Notch's current code. (Which is why we had WoM in classic.)

This is a clientside mod, not server side. It will only work in SP due to the server being coded differently.
If you want this to work in SMP the best thing to do would be to request it as a plugin for Hey0's server mod.
What do you do in real life when you move a bookshelf? Take down the books, move the shelf, and put them back.
Thanks.
