Very nice - installs and plays quite well, with one caveat: it doesn't work right with Snow.
A grassy snow-covered block have the normal half-snowy side-texture on a 1-block step, and the half-grassy texture on anything steeper.
I had a look at that error message and I can't work out how this mod could have caused it, but I am willing to bet that it is something to do with the process of messing around with your minecraft.jar. Not saying you did anything wrong necessarily, but it is what it is.
I'd advise deleting minecraft jar and letting it redownload. Then install my mod again if you want, making sure to backup the "good" minecraft jar first. If it STILL happens when you load that world, play for a bit with an unadulterated minecraft jar before you try and install it again. I'd say moving a distance from where you are, or killing any nearby monsters before you try again would be a good tip.

yeah i just reinstalled. but now i get that error randomly instead of consistently
Look, the instructions provided in the original post work perfectly. If it isn't working for you, you missed a step or did something wrong.
If you can't even find minecraft.jar (it's in the \.minecraft\bin\ folder in appdata) you probably shouldn't be trying to install a mod like this in the first place.
I really don't get how to do this : (
I've downloaded the my class file, 7-zip, and winzip. I don't have a file called minecraft.jar but I do have one called mincraftalpha1.
When I open this with 7-zip and go into the meta-inf folder it won't let me delete the mojang files. It says "Not Implemented" Also it won't let me copy the myclass file into the mincraftalpha1 file via 7-zip. Help please : (
Turn off the Minecraft game, then load it up with 7zip. You can't edit the files in 7zip if you load it up with Minecraft in the background, even if you close it before you start moving files.
MrMessiah, this is an amazing mod, but I noticed it does not affect snow. Could you possibly update this for us who enjoy snow maps?

<Khusa> the creepers are baby dragons
<Gunmage> Instead of spitting out fire they hold it in until they burst like balloons
<Lisimba> So if you would give a creeper a laxative, would it turn into a real dragon?
I came back to post a bug I just found. Something is causing these blocks to be snow on one side but grass on another. Link to picture.

I like this SO much I would love to see it affect all sides of exposed grass blocks, no matter if there's a drop or not! :smile.gif:
That could be done with a simple retexture of the 'drop block' to be also grass. The point of this mod was to have something in between so it didn't look so goofy.
That said, thank you for the snow update! Looks wonderful.

Oddly, the grass was fine in the previous version for me, but in the "snow" version whilst the snow is doing what it should be, the grass now covers sides of blocks in a hit-and-miss fashion. One row of a hillside will be all grass, the next one will show earth, then all grass on the following row, etc.
Thats cos I'm a collosal idiot who can't see problems in his own posted screenshots. Fixed version now up. :smile.gif:
Just saying thanks for getting snow support so quickly!
I think if this mod was brought to notch, it would very likely get added as an option.

Its definitely a priority I'm just having a hard time understanding how snow works. As soon as I figure that out, there'll be a new version.

Just edit the texture pack if you want that :smile.gif: Copy the top grass texture onto the side grass texture ^^

No they're dirt textured.
Please someone make sure Notch sees this!
Can you take a screenshot? The answer is I probably can, but I don't play snow maps so I'm having a hard job understanding what needs fixing here.
