can you make he snow 'flow' down with other blocks too?
so that my sandy snow land lake doesn't look weird compared to the snowy grass near it.
Can you take a screenshot? The answer is I probably can, but I don't play snow maps so I'm having a hard job understanding what needs fixing here.
He meant so that the snow affects the sides of all blocks, not just grass
Oh right. Probably not then in that case, sorry. I mean, it could be done but it would mean doing updates for every block type out there, and I don't really want to do that, it just creates a whole bunch of work when the files all change names...
This is a good mod for those who like it, but I don't agree that Notch should implement it in the actual game (unless we could toggle it on or off). I used this for about 5 minutes until I realized I liked grass without this mod better. I find that seeing grass on all sides of the block makes it a lot harder to see depth (I think thats the word I'm looking for).

I'm having issues with the mod on OS X. After installing it, Minecraft gets stuck at the "Done loading" step. Any idea what I might be doing wrong?
It's a little trickier on OSX because I couldn't find a way to view and edit minecraft.jar without it packing back up incorrectly. So I wrote a script.
Yep, all he needs to do is make an injector to insert his code changes to the class file instead of distributing the whole file.
I look forward to using this and the minimap mod in the future. Hopefully he will be able to keep up with most major updates, or notch takes the hint and does it himself.

Hi Emperorr. That's the direction I'm going down, for sure. Way it should have been all along, really.
Not sure how I feel about the code being up there for all to see but it'd be a bit hypocritical for me to complain about it given how little of it I changed. But it does demonstrate how short a mod it was to make :smile.gif:

I'll recommend and link your mod for sure when you get it back up. I don't think I can live without it anymore! Makes hills and mountains looks so much better.

Yeah, you may have changed only a little part, but what the heck, you knew which part to change. For what I glanced of the code, its pretty undocumented, the variables have all similar names and other shortcuts any developer makes when coding for oneself.
Also, you took the time to do it, so kudos for you my fine gentlemen.
As of version 0.4 this mod will now no longer be a standalone mod, but become part of xau's brilliant HD texture patch - (see viewtopic.php?f=25&t=46173 ) I don't think there's anything else to really do on this but if you have suggestions or bugs (about the BetterGrass part of things) report them here rather than bugging xau about them. Thanks!
Edit: to head off the other obvious question, yes SimpleMap will be coming back soon too.

Good idea, but I would honestly prefer it if it was separate. I don't want every mod out there included xau's patch. Maybe you can use his patcher code?

mcmapDZ: Simple, lightning-fast interactive web maps.
I should clarify, only BetterGrass is getting rolled into his patcher for now. He's very kindly let me use his patcher code for SimpleMap and that will be stand-alone.

You can either look at the script to see how it works or just use the script. Please let me know if it works or doesn't work.
MrMessiah decided to go and remove all of it, and the explanation is in another locked thread.
I still don't understand it myself.
