The pack is released! The current aim is to be a 'detailed simplistic pack', featuring 2-3 colors to a block (not including basic stone). If you try the pack, drop a reply. Even if it's a negative comment I'll eat it up.
Items are being worked on and I'll try to get around to compiling every block. I also have to find something to upload items like arrows and signs in a folder zipped up.
Troubleshooting
-if the game goes black after the title screen, check if the pack is called 'terrain.png'. Imageshack claims it's called 'terraino.png'.

I develop games then lose the code and fail to release them.
Obsidian is horrible and needs to be changed. Mossy cobble looks better than I thought and cobble actually tiles better than I thought. Wood is decent but I want to find a way to make it more.. round, but I think I'd have to go 32x32 and I want to stick with the normal textures atm.
Anyways, workbench is done. I have to check crops in game, I haven't since I made them. Meaning I've never checked them. Urgh, I cannot word anything right today.
Plants are better than I thought and the logs compliment the darker leaves. Red shrooms look a bit big but are okay. When I went to get a sapling to test... Believe it or not, I didn't get a single one from a big tree.
Snow is done and fits the theme well, I think. I need to know whether I should try modding water and lava. Y/n?
Ores look pretty good, imo. But I kinda want another opinion. Expect a release today/tomorrow.
I found a door idea that I like. Minetracks may get done and I HAVE to do sand/gravel. Anyways, off to play some TF2 and try to get a kill with a Holy Hand Grenade.

Urgh, boredom strikes again. I got jukeboxes done but have started on ore blocks. The big ones where you combine 9 iron/gold/diamond. They're the worst block so far.

Thanks for actually replying. Todo: Chests, half blocks, TNT, bookcase, cloth, sponge (not going to look superb because you can't get it legitly atm), minecarts, boats, tracks, torches and all the items. After the tracks and chests, I think everything horrible will be done.
Also, the wood looks funny ingame. I might post a screen so you can see if you want it fixed.
EDIT : Fail, forgot the pic.
EDIT EDIT : I fixed the wood problem, it should now tile vertically nicer.

The pack will be done within minutes! I'm kinda excited because this is my first pack. Anyone that even tries it is really awesome imo. Check back in 10 mins or so.

sorry to say, but this texture pack will not get to far i don't want to be mean but there is atleast 20 simplistic texture packs on the forums, this will fall soon i think
This is a bit more detailed than the "simplistic" packs, though. It's more of a low detail pack, but it's not quite simplistic.
I don't think it looks all that amazing, however, but you did say you're going to try to improve and then move on to prettier textures, so it's excusable. The cobblestone seems a bit too pillowy, though.
But yeah. Shading is gonna be done after I get everything to a slightly changed state, then start improving. I'm actually surprised at how it came out, I thought it would look like my first first attempt done in MSPaint where the plants had black boxes around them and the grass was neon.
EDIT : ****, sorry, Mr. I'm-Better-Than-You-At-Making-Threads, I didn't think to and this is my first project post.

Honestly, when in the hell did i say i was better at making threads i Positively criticized your piece of art work no need to get your panties in a bunch

I think he was talking to swampie. :PP
This is nice, but there are a lot of simplistic packs out there. Try making this one unique in some way?

I intend to as soon as I getoff my ass and start changing things. I might even make this a themed one.
My current direction is to make it more modern, so I'm going to maybe making the bow a gun or something. I do intend to make a separate (but slightly less updated) more minecrafty version (eg bows, etc.)

You're better with words than I.
Should I do the chests TES 3 Morrowind style? Google it if you don't know.
Small chests could be a problem with that though.

I really like these doors. Metal could use some work but all in all I think they're ok.
Next up, chests!
Cactus and ladder. The only thing I like is that ladder. I think the shading fits within the premise of detailed-simple.
Now, two things.
1. What should I use to upload the files?
2. Chests Morrowind style, y/n?

This isn't a simplistic pack. My idea is to start low detail and as I get better to progress to prettier textures.
