So... I realize this is an ancient thread but it pertains exactly to what I need. Basically I need a circle that has I diameter of 400 blocks. I am not sure how I would make a plan for this and google is no help so...
Again I apologies for bringing back this thread but why should I create another topic when there is one here already.
If you're going to necro a thread, at least read it first. The information you need is right there.
I made a web app that allows you to create circles and ellipses, you can check it out at www.mineconics.net. It's still a work in progress, I plan on adding support for spheres, saving designs, sharing designs, etc. Let me know what you think and if you have any problems or suggestions.
I got a little problem with your site because your 0,0 is a block, minecraft 0,0 is on the line
The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything.
For all of you want circle charts of any size, I bring help (in the form of math. Sorry if you don't understand functions).
The 2 functions for drawing circles on a graph are:
f(x)=sqrt(r^2-x^2), where r = the radius of the circle you are drawing
To find out where to place blocks for each column, for each function as h(x), do this:
Find your column's closer side's distance from the origin (center). If the origin is a block and not two, the distance will be an integer plus 1/2.
a=h(x), where x is the distance.
Find your column's further side's distance from the origin, just as you did with the closer side.
b=h(x), where x is the distance.
Fill in the blocks between a, rounded up to the nearest whole number, and b, rounded down to the nearest whole number, for that column.
When you finish that (for all of the columns), you should have a "perfect" circle.
I will add pictures when I get the chance. Thank you for following my instructions; if you did not understand it, please quote the post and ask your question there.
