I don't see many of the common animals from north eastern parts of USA so I thought I'd throw a couple out there with some ideas. as well as a few that are not from there just for fun. Buffalo- Found in herds in grass lands. Drops leather and meat. Ground hogs - dig holes and tunnel which can be a problem if you have a garden, or if you spend a lot of time underground. You never know when you'll hit a pesky groundhog hole that is full of water... or worse. Mockingbirds and Lyre Birds- love to mimic sounds and are sometimes so convincing they fool the listener! ( Ssssssssss....) Fireflies and Glow worms- very small glowing creatures that are nearly impossible to find in the day but blink and glow at night. Maybe you can catch some with a butterfly net and keep them in a jar? Gives off dim light/sparkle effect. Could be used to keep Endermen away and from stealing your blocks. Crickets, Grasshoppers, Cicadas, and Katydids- just to add more singing, hopping and noise to those hilly forests and meadows. But careful, swarms of Locusts can destroy entire crops! Hopefully you have something that can chase them away. Caterpillars- colorful and sometimes exotic looking, eats plants including your garden if they get in it. Can climb trees and walls, as well as right over your fence. Frogs and skunks will eat them. Eventually turn in to Butterflies and Moths. Sea Cucumbers, jellyfish, and Star fish - but becareful. Some of these beautiful creatures can poison you if you touch them. Praying Mantis- once called garden devils, these curious insects have fast reflexes and will catch and devour any bug they can. They are known as the farmers best friend for clearing out gardens. 1 Mantis nest can spawn more than 1000 babies if kept in the sun. But don't get them around frogs or these ferocious hunters soon become dinner.
Don't forget Tadpoles! You can't have frogs if you don't have Tadpoles!! Small aquatic creature thats just a blob with a tail. You could harvest frog eggs in swamps and small shallow ponds and place them in *garden ponds* to hatch tadpoles which will later turn in to frogs and eat bugs. Goldfish and Koi- pretty orange decorative fish with fancy double tails and round bellies. Most prized for fountains and water gardens. Loves lily pads and lotus blossoms. Roosters! - Crow just before sun up. Likes to sit on fence posts. Stays where ever there are chickens. Comes in a variety of colors. Will fight with other Roosters though so you may need several pens! Cockadoodle doooooo! Mudpuppy/Waterdog- Strange looking salamander type creature found in swamps and ponds near the bottom of the water. Very shy. Name comes from the misconception that they bark like a dog. They feed on bugs and worms and small larvae and prefer to live in shallow, slow moving water under rocks. Might make a good creature to put in cave ponds. Parrots- colorful birds found in coastal and jungle areas. Can be tamed. Perfect companion for an adventuring pirate! Mimics sounds. Screeches out warnings when danger is near. Iguana - Lives in trees. Loves hot places, the sun, and swimming. Generally stays in desert. Eats plants. Can be tamed. Cameleon- Slow moving lizard, loves trees. Changes colors when it walks on different colored blocks. Kangaroo- Already has a built in inventory!!! Now if only we could tame one. Turkeys - Drops meat like chicken but larger and takes longer to cook. Can possibly stuff turkey with vegetables. Lays eggs. Can grind meat to make Turkey burgers or slice cooked Turkey to make luncheon meat! Oysters- and pearls which can be crafted in to other things in game such as decor, fancy armor, or tools.
Fictional: TangleRoot -The roots of a plant that comes alive in caves, especially those found under jungles, and will often block the entrances to caves. Can be chopped with an ax effectively. Possibly drops sticks... maybe a bone rarely from an unlucky traveler that got tangled. Slowing effect like cob webs. If you wait to long they begin to choke and suffocate you! Vicious Thorn Bush- found in jungles and heavily wooded biomes. Does about the same damage as cactus does but hard to get away from like cob webs. Cyclops- slightly larger one eyed version of the ogre except it does knockback with its club. Banshee- similar to Ghasts but spawn in over world without the serious block destruction. Are known for their haunting screams. Can not cross water. Prefer dark secluded places. Chinese Dragon- different from the Enderdragon, this dragon is long and thin, resembling a Caterpillar with large eyes and mouth like a lion. They are often seen as symbols of good luck and fortune. Maybe you will only see one if treasure is near by? They are also rulers of weather and water. Maybe they warn of coming storms?
Some ideas about some of the previously mentioned: Snails - tend to eat plants and can cause damage to crops and flowers. Meerkat - funny little creatures that in real life will "hug" each other and anything else. Might be a silly funny thing to add. I can just picture one running up and hugging a creeper, which of course upsets the creeper. Of course Meerkats are very clever and quick so they will most likely get away. Perhaps the whole purpose of a Meerkat would be to distract a creeper that is chasing you? Frogs - but more specifically than what was mentioned, Bullfrogs- loud, fat frog that is usually found around farm ponds and swamps. Some of them are big enough to eat small snakes. Commonly kept as pets. They keep bugs out of the garden. And by the way... Bullfrog legs are quite yummy. Poison Arrow/Dart Frogs- colorful little frogs that will poison you if you touch them. Captured by natives they were often used to poison blow darts and arrows by rubbing the chemicals off their skin and on the tips of the weapons. Poison frogs get their poison from the bugs they eat. Kept as pets they lose their poison effect unless you feed them a more natural diet. Maybe you could create poison arrows by taming a poison frog and feeding him zombie meat, or mixing in zombie meat with frog slime on a crafting bench or in an alchemist lab?
A suggestion for all animals: You might possibly consider a very rare chance of spawning a pure white (albino) or an even more rare pure black (melano) animal of each breed. Chance of spawning should be very, very rare so that these animals are special.
Awesome idea--a liger (look it up). Under very rare circumstances, a lion and a tiger will breed, making a huge liger. Behaves like a solitary lion maybe?

On my English teacher; The thing is, we like her--we're just afraid she's gonna blow our asses off.
May I suggest that, having looked at the suggestions, you simply make another mod, compatible and interactive with mo'creatures, that has all mythical creatures such as the ones that were suggested. it could be called Mo'myths or Mo'lengeds or even Legendary Mo'creatures, this would mean that any one who wanted their real life animals walking around MC (with the additions that are already there) could download the Mo'creatures mod or anyone who wants to have all the myths and legends walking around could download the Mo'Myths, Legendary Mo'creatures ... and anyone who wants both can simply download both, they use the same things as they would be the same mod just different animals and it could be as simple as drag and drop.
Disclaimer: I am not a modder or do I have any knowledge of the complexity it takes to make a mod so I am sorry if this is not a viable idea because of effort.
DITTO! That seems like an excellent idea to me too. I know personally I like to keep my worlds realistic 'or' fantasy. I don't really like to mix the two.
What about a creature that is actually a pair of creatures. Whatever they are, monkeys for example, or 'totem pole' figures, have them always follow each other, one could be the leader.
When they become aggressive, the nonleader would jump on the leader's shoulders and the pair could be replaced by a new mob that looks like the duo stacked up. When they are lit on fire, they seperate and run around in circles. If their pathing methods can't find a way for the follower to stay with the leader, both go insane and blow up after running in circles.
I like that gargoyle idea of dropping a statue replica. Maybe if you sneak up on one unnoticed while it happens to be stacked together, you could use some item on it to turn it to an inanimate object figure to gather and place, with an 'antidote' item to bring it back to life.
What if you could tame a fox? Give it a fish maybe? Or since it's omnivorous, a fish OR an apple? That would be awesome if you could tame foxes, and when tame they have some qualities of a dog, fighting along your side against hostile mobs.
Awesome idea--a liger (look it up). Under very rare circumstances, a lion and a tiger will breed, making a huge liger. Behaves like a solitary lion maybe?
I think the best way to go about this list, so it's easy to access is to make a thread with it, I'll link it in the OP, and perhaps you could do a poll to see which mob you guys want done next, and I'll do it.
If you want to take the time to make and maintain that thread, I'll appreciate it
So, here we are. I'm Mythra13 and I will be maintaining this thread the best I can. It is official because it has been authorized by Dr Zhark himself. It is UNofficial because it is maintained by myself and there is no guarantee that if you post something here it will make it into his awesome mod.
I will be conducting polls and posting poll results here on this thread.

DO NOT be confused, I have merely taken the many, many suggestions of others here on this topic and sorted through them and tried to present them in an organized manner. So, I take no credit for the original ideas, just for the sorting and re-posting.
i noticed most fictional suggestionsa involve greek myths so here is my idea:
you could add various greek monsters, some of which have already been suggested, but you could also make many of those things ridgable and maybe add some sort of passive centaur that are sort of like villagers only they can give you quests to defeat certain monsters and you get a reward if you do itand instead of calling werewolves that you could change their name to lycans
(werewolf in greek)

That is a good idea. I have also noticed a lot of people suggesting mythical creatures almost everyone knows about already (such as gryphons, dragons, minotaurs, etc.). Just to add some new things, I have suggested creatures in the past that I made up (like the Etch on page 59-61; its one of those pages), and I realized that they may go together quite well with many ideas people have suggested, such as your centaur that gives you quests (and the quest could be to defeat an Etch! Or something like that).
Also, about lycans; I think some people would be confused with the word 'lycan', as they are more used to the word 'werewolf'. Perhaps a stronger, faster, or rarer werewolf could be called the lycan?
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Hah! You though you would see something interesting here, didn't you?
lycan was a ancient greek king who tried to feed zeus human flesh. he was transformed into a wolf. i'm pretty sure he was not a werewolf in the actual myths from what i have read and i have bee reading myths my entire life. there was only one lycan. and i think you've spelled it wrong.
Can you do tame fox mob for me?
NOTE: I do not speak English, but I translate this post into Portuguese BR
(Em PT br: gostaria que colocassem a raposa domesticada no Mo Creature's)
first of all I wanna say, that I am so glad, that you're updating! This mod is perfect, and even becomes better everytime...
Second, my suggestion:
I don't know what exactly it is you are planning for the future (if anything), but I imagine it to be difficult and a lot of work to give every rare mob its own function and/or items to work with. I've just read throught the list of suggestions on the first page, which is immense, and I wondered, if it makes sense to go looking for rare mobs if they don't drop or do anything special.
Maybe it would be an idea to be able to make a trophy from all the mobs, in addition to any other function they may have.
Trophies could be stuffed or small/toy versions of them, so you could simply use their models and make an item of them, which would not mean too much work, I think.
Or maybe you could add a camera as an item, which makes pictures of them to be hung at the walls, which could be more work I guess, but would give the mod an additional but simple feature to go for. Collecting pics of all the mobs...
Could be fun trying to get one from an Ogre or Werewolf
I came to that idea when I read about the Dodo in your list of natural mob suggestions... A rare bird living on small islands in the ocean.
Cool idea, but if you ever were to add it to the mod, why go hunting for it? To make Dodo armor?
Maybe trophies like photos or stuffed versions for decoration could be a good reason to go looking for rare mobs without a special function or drop for the player.
Looking forward to the next version!
- Horrid
Lol, good point. There are lots of mobs, but not a lot of them drop anything worth hunting for. Not unless you plan on living exclusively inside one biome (and in some cases I do).
About the trophies, the first thing that entered my mind was 'MAGIC!' in big bold letters. So, what about this...
For the fictional mobs, the trophies, instead of just sitting there being weird, had special properties? Like, if gargoyles ever get added, you could occasionally get one to drop a statue of it.
Example: Wild Gargoyels spawning inside things like stone fortresses, and if you get them into light or give them a certain potion (perhaps an Essence of Light) They turn into a statue. You mine the statue, and you can then place it somewhere else, and the gargoyle will be tame and active at night, and protect the 20-block area from where you placed it. And there could be different kinds of gargoyles too, with different abilities.
Also, the picture idea sounds great! Maybe whenever you use the camera, it takes a regular snapshot, then overlays it on top of a special picture frame, so that there wouldn't be conflict over the normal pictures already inside Minecraft. Or maybe you just get the picture, and you craft it with a frame.
A_A_A
A_B_A
A_A_A
My idea for the crafting for a picture frame. B=nothing (unless another recipe is already like this, in which case it would be paper, fur or leather), and A=wooden planks, cobblestone, iron ingots, gold ingots, diamonds and emerald. Diamond and emerald frames, if right-clicked with a Diamond Staff, will cause that creature to spawn. That way you don't have to be in creative or use another mod to get mob spawners, or hope wistfully for Minecraft to decide if a chicken egg will spawn a chicken or if other herd animals will spawn. Plus, its controlled spawning, and you can spawn anything you take a picture of. Although finding diamonds/emeralds is tricky to begin with. But that's the point, right? Oh, and before I close this post...
C_C_D
C_E_C
C_C_C
C=cobblestone or iron ingots, D=button, and E=glass. My idea for the camera crafting.
Also, it would be a fun goal to pursue. "Get a picture of every mob". Sounds like a new achievement to add. And an exciting one too.
(Try to get a picture of a Bat Horse. Goodness, that would be hard.)

That would be great.

Some ideas about some of the previously mentioned:
Snails - tend to eat plants and can cause damage to crops and flowers.
Frogs - but more specifically than what was mentioned,
Bullfrogs- loud, fat frog that is usually found around farm ponds and swamps.
I might add more later if I think about it.
DITTO! That seems like an excellent idea to me too. I know personally I like to keep my worlds realistic 'or' fantasy. I don't really like to mix the two.
Maybe if you sneak up on one unnoticed while it happens to be stacked together, you could use some item on it to turn it to an inanimate object figure to gather and place, with an 'antidote' item to bring it back to life.
you could add various greek monsters, some of which have already been suggested, but you could also make many of those things ridgable and maybe add some sort of passive centaur that are sort of like villagers only they can give you quests to defeat certain monsters and you get a reward if you do itand instead of calling werewolves that you could change their name to lycans
NOTE: I do not speak English, but I translate this post into Portuguese BR
