You can use imgur to upload a skin, then use the direct URL to load a custom skin. Otherwise, your skin you've uploaded to minecraft.net will work fine. Really, any URL that leads directly to a skin will work, though imgur may be the easiest.
Mermaid tail should show in water OR if the player has wings.
I think a combination of a mermaid tail and wings seems kind of silly personally. xD I mean, logically speaking why would you need both? To fly or swim, why swim when you can fly? And why would you need to fly over water if you can swim it?

THANK YOU! I got it all figured out now. Now I don't have to go to minecraft.net every three seconds
Sorry about this, but I seriously need some assistance from someone. I've posted twice and have been ignored. My last post about this problem is here. I've provided the error and crash log generated by the client. I don't fancy having to start my game again every time I log off my server and visit another one. Please, some assistance would be nice.

There really was no reason to quote the OP's picture... Outside of people staring at it and wondering why you'd do so, it serves no purpose.
As far as "being ignored", did you consider that perhaps you weren't ignored but no one knows why you're crashing? That report isn't exactly the easiest to determine for those of us still not quite grasping these reports in the first place.
So I'll tell you what perhaps a lot of us are going to tell you, an then you can't say that you're being ignored anymore... "I don't know"
That better?
How about telling us if you are able to play the game in single player with all these mods or not? Is this crash only because you're connecting to a public based server or not?
There is a difference between "server" and "single player" and since you are talking about "server" in your posts, I am wondering why you have to start a new one? Servers don't work that way... Try to be a little clearer on what you're meaning here please...
A little more information for what you're seeing happening might be helpful, since you know... Crash logs aren't my strong suit...

Yes, actually, saying "I don't know, have you tried ___" is better than not getting any responses at all.
I posted about this twice before, and made note that it only occurs when I disconnect from a server which is using the MPM plugin. There are no errors on the server. The client simply crashes with an NPE from MPM.

Some people might argue with you there... "If you don't know, don't answer!" you know, the impatient ones we all know and hate... I've had plenty of those assholes...
And yeah you made note that it only happens from servers, but you've also stated that it meant you had to "start over" which on servers, shouldn't happen... So the question needed asking.
Can you give a clear list of the mods you use with MPM, especially ones that this server doesn't use, so conflicts can be ruled out for certain?
Does this crash happen instantly when logging in or are you able to play for a little while? Or until.... (opening inventory, menu, etc)?
Null Pointer Exception is one I never understood causes for, but it sounds like it's a GUI thing? Completely random guess...

Oh, trust me, I've had plenty of encounters with those types, as well. The impatient ones who don't want any help unless it's a surefire solution to a problem. If you're trying to help, you're trying to help. I understand these things.
I'm almost certain it was not a conflict with another mod, seeing as how everything was perfectly fine unless I was playing on a server which also had the MPM plugin. Disconnecting from any other server was fine, and singleplayer was fine. The client would only crash when I disconnected from my server running the MPM plugin.
I certainly appreciate your time and assistance. As you can see, Noppes has provided a test version which does not crash upon disconnecting from an MPM-enabled server.
Indeed I can, and I did try that test version. I can confirm I did not crash upon leaving my server with the MPM plugin on the server and MPM on the client. Might I ask what specifically was the problem? I'm curious.

For some reason Minecraft.getMinecraft().theWorld was null. That should never happen so Im guessing one of your other mods is doing something weird. I just added a check to see whether or not its null.

Hmmm... That's odd. It only happens with MPM installed and when I disconnect from the MPM-enabled server. I'll do a bit of experimentation later and try to narrow it down. Regardless of the cause, I appreciate the fix!
This happens any time someone with MPM comes within range of me to be rendered. (Not a crash, just a spammy error on the client console)

This error seems to be stopping me from seeing the other player's model. I updated optifine and forge to their latest recommended versions and reinstalled more player models witht he link on the main post. None of those steps have fixed the issue.

That's the exact URL where an image is. Make sure that points to a Minecraft skin (will work with the upcomming 1.8 skins, too!). For example:
http://i.imgur.com/jWdQxK3.png
Will point to this skin:
