Open the minecraft launcher and make sure you have the forge profile selected in the profile selection thing
Good call there, I didn't even consider that one.

Hi, um, when I add stuff to my character model, everything but the head texture becomes Steve. Any way to fix?

The glass is either full or empty, depending on context, because if you fill a glass halfway, that;s half full. If you instead drink halfway down the glass, it's half empty.
Skin mapping for how to color/draw on the additional features can be found on the website linked in the OP
And the URL is meant for the actual URL of the skin image file. So example would be mcskins/5678125.jpg or something... I just made that up, don't try it... But you get the idea...
Ok got skin mapping down (lol found images for its position in the mod itself) although I still haven't figured skin URL out. >.< by URL is it ment by where its found on your computer, or on the web? I can't seem to figure it out
Just figured out this ONLY happens if I disconnect from a server with the MPM plugin installed on the server, if that helps at all. No errors in server console.

small problem: the ears & claws don't seem to work, I put the ears in the correct position, & they don't show up in game when I select ears-player
also on the claws, I have nothing in the slot, although, when I select it they're just a block of white. anyone know why or what I'm doing wrong?
Claws are probably because you have a white background, not a transparent one. Though if nothing is showing up in game at all for your years, I begin to wonder if perhaps you have something in the wrong spot somewhere...
If ears aren't working and they aren't showing up, I am led to believe that are in the wrong spot somewhere/somehow. These are not something I have quite mastered myself yet, so a working example isn't something I can provide.

how would one get a transparent background? Does it have something to do with the program I use? I use paint

Yes it's the program you use that depends on whether or not a transparent background can be used. Paint does not recognize transparency, if you need one that can, try GIMP.

Pastebin decided I was a bot or something and made me do its captcha. I tried a dozen times or more, and couldn't read the damn thing, so I had to go with pastie.

THANK YOU for telling me about gimp! I used it, and I found out paint was the problem I got the ears and claws to work! Thanks so much! You've probably even helped me on my YouTube spirite animations!

That URL isn't even taking me anywhere, so that's a problem right here.

Is it possible at this time for a model to have 2 tails or more? I believe in V1 wasn't it possible? Did it carry over to V2?
Since I was the one who requested it in V1, I'm getting Noppes to put it in V2, so, yes, they will be in V2 soon hopefully.

My avatar is a two tailed fox named Miles "Tails" Prower. He may only be 8 years old,but he is a highly skilled engineer. He stands 2'7" tall, and can use his tails to fly short distances, and run at near supersonic speeds.

1.8 release was the anticipated version release for this, among quite a few other additions.

It uses either the skin you use for Minecraft already, or the URL of a skin file you input into the menu.

Pretty much this. If you want your own customized parts, you need to edit certain sections of the skin in order to do so. You can look up the examples in the mod if you wanna figure out how. I think, for the most part, they're the same as v1's skinning system.
Good call there, I didn't even consider that one.

- changing independently the size of the skirt.
- add Elfs ear.(Long ears that grows from the side of the face)
sorry for my Impudent requests.
