I have the same problem as well, strangely enough. The mods I have installed alongside mpm are Wall-Jump, archimedes' ships, CPcommandsyntax, Custom NPCs, Dragon mounts, Dynamic lights, iChun util, Gravity gun, Minecraft Comes Alive, movingworld (coremod for archimedes'), RadixCore (coremod for minecraft comes alive), SoundFilters, worldedit, and nashorn (not a mod, but its in the mods folder anyways)
If there are any mods common between me and you guys that have the same issue, then that mod may have an incompatibility with MPM. I'm unsure if the bug still persists without any other mods installed, however. If so, its a problem with MPM or forge.
You need to specify the version you are using, if you have any other mods installed, and if so what those mods are.
Can't exactly do anything with a "this isn't working.." Need more information. ;P

You don't have Optifine installed at all? This is a fairly common mod for users to have on their Minecraft, and it is known to be currently conflicting/incompatible with MPM 1.8BETA versions.

I have tested this again without dynamic lights and the problem persisted. I tested yet again without any mods installed except for MPM and the entity flickering was still happening.
If it helps at all, it appears like the entity is always flickering around in one direction, as if it is constantly being teleported north-west at all times by a very fast clock.

I am not sure if this is due to the new rendering system in 1.8 or not, I can only make guesses at this point.
Let us all hope that by the next release of MPM 1.8 this and a few other problems are resolved.
I will be sure to pass along this issue the next time I speak with Noppes on the matter, if he does not get the thread first.

You can already make your helm layer "less flat".
It's an option for your head settings if I recall? I can't say I remember every option of the menu in-game but I know it's there.

Mob models flicking seems to be a bug in the current BETA build of MPM's 1.8 version.
So long as your Player Models are working (mostly) and the mod loads, we know it's functioning.
Player API has never been needed for MPM though, and has been known to cause severe issues when installed alongside it and mods that DO require it.
So I would suggest leaving it uninstalled anyway. ;P
