I'm working on my mod and am trying to make a custom mob which can change it's model and texture depending on what mob its set to. I've managed to get it to dynamically change its model based on an entity saved as an NBT tag in the mobs datamanager however getting that entities texture is proving difficult.
I was tempted to build a resource location pathway as I've done elsewhere in my mod but in situations where the texture is in a folder in the texture folder my code fails to find the texture.
Anyone got any hints as to where I might be able to get the resource location for an entities texture ? Or will I need to somehow access the protected getEntityTexture method ?
