I am new to coding animations into mobs. Since I spent most of my time studying to make a mod, learning how to make detailed models and how to position rotation points and all that fun stuff.
I decided to start trying to add custom animations, but ran into an issue when I wanted to try something with my mermaid/mermen/Poseidon models. I want the swimming animation to have their bodies turn at an angle, but when they are just standing idle, they will more standing up-style angle.
Is there a way to do this? Any help would be great thanks in advance.
First, you would need a way to reliably detect when your entity is in water. Then, you would want to rotate/do the swimming animation (i.e. swimming forward animation, idle swimming animation). Finally, you would want a condition that resets any changes you make if you don't need it (i.e. you rotate 90 degs on the x axis so you rotate -90 degrees , you change your modelerenders x,y,z offset so you need to change it back, etc).
