My idea is to have armor give the player a view only inventory bar. In other words, its a vest with pockets and at a glance, the player can see what is in the vest pockets but only access the items through the inventory screen.
I am new to modding and have an OK understanding of Java.
Any help as to where to start i.e. containers, GUI etc would be awesome.
I already have the items built and models/textures all rendered in properly.
Well having worked with and created an inventory for this mod I'm updating, I would say first have a png of the image you want to have as your gui. This is important because it will help you place your slots you create for your inventory. Then create an inventory and a guiinventory and a container inventory. When you have those three classes you need to have a way to open up gui so you have to set up some packets. Then BAM, inventory with gui!
