I’m brand new to modding, and I know I probably should have gone for a more simple mod, but I decided that since I can’t find a really good type of this one mod I would want, (Not saying because it’s cringie) I would make one myself. I’ve done pretty good so far. I followed tutorials and memorized the steps they had given me instead of just copying all the code. Now I am at a loss though. I have an item. This item is a staff. I don’t care much for modeling it to be 3D. I want to keep things as simple as I can right now. I want it to be longer. I set it to full3D, but now I need help with making the staff look like a staff and not a stick. I have found similar threads to this, but they aren’t detailed in a way I can just figure out how to do it. I know I need to make a render class, but I don’t know where to put it and what to put in it. Help is very much appreciated.
You need to create a custom item renderer for the staff if its just visual, if its the actual reach that you want to extend its going to be more complicated with extended entity properties for the player, which will have you do networking.
