So I've found the joys of being able to edit recipes with the new change to json files for the recipes for mods.
I was told that in order to edit recipes in the minecraft game itself, however, they are located in the .jar
I am running windows 10, and to me they show up as "executable jar file" for the format.
I know how to navigate it with 7zip, and open the jar files, but would anyone happen to know which jar file that minecraft keeps their core recipes in?
My goal is to create recipes that allow the player to "salvage" core material off of constructed items. (but with loss due to the processing of the materials)
In addition to this, I would like to edit the material "costs" on items that don't make sense (because of the lovely rule of physics. The Law of Conservation of Matter).
Eventually I want to create half ingots and such, to smooth out material costs to be a bit more realistiic in my eyes and calculations.
I plan on tinkering with it this weekend, for now I just need to know where to look to locate the recipe files (if anyone has the path that would be appreciated). I can take it from there.
Thank you. I"ve been busy the last few days. I'm taking an RPG style spin on minecraft so I want to change a few items to make more sense and reflect technological progression (as well as requiring certain "quests" to be completed or "rep" gained before some things are "taught" to the player).
