(A note before the rest of this, I know 1.6.4 isn't used a lot anymore and probably isn't supported, so if you can't help for 1.6.4, just tell me what you would do for any other version you prefer, and I'll try applying it to my mod.)
Ok, so I'm making a mod that adds in a lot of materials and minerals from real life, like Silver, Bronze, and Pyrite. I'm also adding in tool sets for any other material in Minecraft that doesn't have a tool set, like Coal and Nether Quartz. But I have 2 big problems I need fixed. And I need to submit this mod soon for a class. So any help is deeply appreciated.
Problem 1: So I have this idea to make animated armor wraps for my redstone armor set. Like when you wear the armor it glows with power. I have the item for the armor pieces animated, but the armor wraps are all super thin. Help?
Now I've already seen a post about this issue that was answered, and it was "Use MCPatcher" or something, but I can't apply this to my mod. So is it possible to do it without MCPatcher?
Problem 2: So a part of my mod is a dimension filled with my materials. I want the top layer of the dimension biome top be a random ore, from both vanilla minecraft and my mod. So this is how I want it to happen;
When the block pops into existence, the block will randomly decide on a block to replace itself with, and then instantly replace itself with that pre-decided block. My block class code is right here: http://pastebin.com/b5YQDvjy
I have everything set up so the block chooses what to replace itself with, it's just the actual replacement action I need help with.
Thanks for reading, and any help is deeply appreciated.
